Tiếng ve râm ran trong bụi cây báo hiệu mùa hè đã tới. Lòng em cũng háo hức khôn nguôi. Có lẽ bởi vì mùa hè cũng là mùa của những bông hoa phượng đỏ rực-loài hoa của tuổi học trò cũng là loài hoa mà em yêu thích nhất.

Trong tán phượng xanh mát, lấp ló những chùm hoa phượng nở rộ. Mới đầu hè, cây phượng mới chỉ xuất hiện vài chấm đỏ điểm trên nền xanh non tràn trề sức sống. Thế nhưng chỉ một vài ngày sau, cả tán phượng tràn ngập màu đỏ tươi, che lấp đi cả màu xanh của lá. Nhìn từ xa, cây phượng như một nàng thiếu nữ yêu kiều, khoác lên mình chiếc váy đỏ rực rỡ. Hoa phượng thường mọc thành từng chùm, từng chùm đung đưa trong gió. Mới đầu, hoa phượng chỉ là một nụ hoa nhỏ màu xanh non. Qua một vài ngày, những cánh màu xanh nở ra tạo thành đài hoa, nở đan xen là những cánh hoa màu đỏ tươi, mỏng manh, mềm mại. Hoa phượng có năm cánh, đặc biệt có một cánh cái màu đỏ xen lẫn với những xọc trắng, ở phần gân hoa lại có màu vàng nhạt làm cho bông hoa phượng càng thêm rực rỡ. Nhụy phượng cũng có màu đỏ, khá dài và mảnh, ở đầu có một túi phấn nhỏ xíu đựng đầy những mật ngọt quyến rũ ong bướm tới hút mật. Những bông phượng mọc đan xen với nụ hoa tạo thành những chùm hoa vô cùng đẹp đẽ. Dưới cái nắng vàng rực rỡ của mùa hè, hoa phượng dường như càng rực rỡ. Cái màu đỏ tinh khôi, là kết tinh của nắng, của gió, của mùa hè sôi động. Đến khi cái nắng của mùa hè không còn rực rỡ nữa, những cánh phượng cũng buồn bã lìa cành. Những cánh phượng rụng xuống tạo thành một thảm hoa rực rỡ, rất thơ mộng. Lúc này học sinh chúng em lại thích ngồi dưới tán phượng, ngắm những cánh phượng rơi, nhặt những bông hoa phượng ép vào trang vở trắng làm kỷ niệm.

Hoa phượng được lũ học sinh chúng em gọi bằng cái tên thân thương- hoa học trò. Hoa phượng cùng năm tháng chứng kiến những lớp học sinh càng ngày càng trưởng thành, chia tay những học trò cũ, đón những lứa học sinh mới đến với bến đò tri thức. Phượng chứng kiến những kỉ niệm buồn vui của học trò. Đứng nơi sân trường, ngẩng đầu nhìn những bông hoa phượng đầu tiên xuất hiện, lòng em lại nôn nao bao cảm xúc. Hoa phượng là báo hiệu cho mùa thi, là bắt đầu cho những ngày hè được nghỉ ngơi, vui chơi thỏa thích. Thế nhưng mùa hoa phượng nở cũng là mùa chia tay. Đó là lúc chúng em phải xa thầy cô, xa bạn bè, xa mái trường thân thương, chuẩn bị bước vào một chặng đường mới, một môi trường mới. Thế nhưng chắc chắn trong lòng chúng em sẽ luôn chứa những kỷ niệm, chứa đựng một màu đỏ của loài hoa thân thương.

Em rất yêu thích hoa phượng. Nó đã trở thành một mảnh ghép quan trọng trong ký ức tuổi thơ em.

Những người lính cầm cây súng ra với biển khơi với quyết tâm và sự can trường. Bởi vì các anh không chỉ bảo vệ vùng biển mà còn mang trách nhiệm xây dựng cho hòn đảo của Tổ quốc được yên bình, ấm no. Sóng gió chỉ thổi bay được cát bụi chứ không thể thổi bớt được tình yêu quê hương tha thiết và sự vững vàng, niềm tin yêu mà các anh dành trọn cho đất nước. Khi chiến tranh qua đi, những người lính biển vẫn tiếp tục cầm chắc cây súng bảo vệ cho vùng hải đảo được bình yên. Bao năm qua luôn như thế, hình ảnh người lính đứng trên đảo vững chãi như ngọn hải đăng vẫn luôn rạng ngời và soi sáng cho bao lí tưởng, làm ấm thêm niềm yêu thương nơi quê nhà. Ngày hôm nay, khi biển xanh quê hương với hai quần đảo quý Trường Sa, Hoàng Sa ngày càng trở thành niềm tự hào bởi những giá trị tài nguyên vô tận, khi kẻ thù vẫn còn nhăm nhe chiếm lấy biển đảo nước ta bằng những âm mưu hiểm ác thì nhiệm vụ của những người lính đảo lại càng quan trọng hơn bao giờ hết.
