The Imperial City of Hue was actually a walled fortress and palace belonged to the ancient City of Hue which was a capital city of the Nguyen Dynasty- Vietnam's last royal dynasty fro 140 years. The grandeur architecture was planned to be built in 1803 by Emperor Gia Long. During 27 years from 1805 to 1832, the Imperial City of Hue was finally completed under the reign of the Emperor Minh Mang, making it the most massive structure being built in the history of modern Vietnam. There are total of ten main parts: The Citadel and The Forbidden City. The complex of the Emperor's residence, gates, temples, and pagodas was severely damage during the Vietnam War, and only 20 out of 148 bulding survied

On December 11,1993 , Unesco's Director general , Federico May acknowledged the complex of monuments of Hue was a World Cultural Heritage .

With the population of 350,000 Hue is not a particulary large city . But it is full of historical (4)..... There is a lot for tourists and holiday - layer to(5) .... in Hue and in its surroundeing .
