It’s Tet festival in the North. The Tet five-fruit tray plays an irreplaceable role in Vietnamese families. The five-fruit tray is placed next to “chung” cakes and a plate of steamed momordica sticky rice on the ancestral altar. Five kinds of fruit with different colors and shapes create a lively painting.

Banana or finger citron means protection. Pomelo or watermelon with round shape reveals a prosperous and lucky New Year. Persimmon and mandarin orange with impressive colors symbol the success.

The five-fruit tray adds more beautiful colors to the ancestral altar on Tet days. Each part of the country has Tet specialities. For example, Southern people make “tet” cake (similar to “chung” cake in the North) and place watermelon on the ancestral altar.

Boiled chicken and steamed momordica sticky rice indispensable on the offering food tray. It is said that the red color of momordica will bring good luck to every family in the New Year.

The freshly blooming peach blossom is the spring sign of the return. Spring is also the time of the magic season with a special New Year's Eve can not forget. New Year's Eve has become the most anticipated moment in my hometown.

The thirtieth day air was so hot and tiring in the cold. From the afternoon, the house was prepared for the New Year's Eve: Which green cake, apricot blossom, which is decorated beautifully, on the wall also paste the red sentence. To this day, whoever went to where even so far back to gather, gather. Every year, people get together. People talk as if to review what is past and welcome what is coming, fresh. Finished meals, everyone bustling with work on the New Year's Eve. Adults re-decorate the house, start the ceremony, traditional dishes express the desire, desire. Children running fun, eager to watch fireworks. Let's call each other to welcome New Year's Eve. Outside the road, people and vehicles sparse population. The lights in the alleys are lit up. The dust began to fall lightly, permeating the leaves. Earth space gradually into quiet, seems to hear each breath, each beat of time is moving. Moments of the upcoming season ...

The bell rang for twelve hours. Everyone chanted. From the village, fireworks burst into the sky, bright as the day. This is the most beautiful moment. My sisters ran out of the gate. Beams of light fly to the sky as if carrying all the wishes of man flying high. The sound of guns like waking things, turning to spring. The sky in that magical moment brings a sense of happiness to people. People stare at each other silently, closing their eyes so that the spring air is full of heart, to mingle with the space transfer season. On the altar of the ancestors, the incense burner was lit up. It is time for people to remember and thank their roots. After those sacred moments, people rush to each other to pick the branches or go out together. Beyond the bustling street. Especially young people, spring to play. They meet the best wishes. Someone rushed home early, hoping the seals would come through in the year. Music emerges everywhere, spring songs replace man's wishes to nature ...

New Year's Eve floats into quiet. Outside, the spring rain is still light. Everyone in the family together for the night to enjoy the miracle on the first night of the new year. So, spring has come true.

New Year's Eve is a moment of natural season, but also a moment of human season, of human heart. My countryside is simple but extremely warm. Here I feel everything, nature and humanity.

There are a white leather sofa, a television and a sideboard in the living room. After dinner, my father will turn on the television, choose a great movie and we watch it happily. Next to the living room is the kitchen where is used for cooking and enjoying the meals. In the middle of the room is a dinner table which is made from wood. Three cookers, a refrigerator and all the neccesary stuff for cooking is arranged carefully in the right corner of the room. In the left of the kitchen is a clean toilet. Beside the toilet is the bathroom which is equipped a shower and a bathtub. There are only two rooms upstairs that is my parents’ room and my private room. I’ve decorated my bedroom with adorable wallpaper and many lovely stuffed animals. A single bed is placed next to the window so that I can stargaze before falling asleep. In the opposite of the bed are my desk and my bookshelf that contain many kinds of book. There are also an old television and a piano in my bedroom. I especially love the piano because that was the gift from dad in my birthday. In every Christmas or Tet holiday, all member of my family ornament the house together and then gather in the kitchen to cooking.

I live in a big city, and my house is not very big since there are only rich people who can afford to live in a spacious house. Every room in my house is just enough for our activities, so we do not have much space for the living room. However, we try our best to decorate it because it is where the whole family gathers after a long day staying outside. We lay down a thick rug on the floor, it both helps to decorate and keep the floor safe from the scratches. To save some space, we put the TV and the loud speakers on the wall. The Play Station, DVD player and other electronic devices are put in a small cabinet in the corner of the room, and we only take them out whenever we want to play something. In the middle of the room is a glass table, we put on the surface a bottle of fresh water and some cups so everyone can have a quick drink before leaving or after coming back to the house. Behind the table is a big white couch, and it can be considered as the biggest thing in the living room. My mother loves the pastel tone, so the walls are painted in cream color; and they all go very well with the couch. We do not have any window there, so we install an air conditioner to keep the atmosphere cool. We hang some pictures of landscape as well as painting on the walls to make the room livelier. There are also a pot of a small plant in the corner of the room, so we can get some fresh air from it. Every night, we would gather to watch TV or sing karaoke, and it is my favorite time of the day. Although the living room is no too big, our family will always have good times there together.

1.Our house has many rooms but perhaps the most beautiful is the living room. It is located on the ground floor, with access to doors, kitchen and dining room. My father likes the light color so he paints it blue. On the walls, there are two glass windows as a result the room is always full of light. This is probably the largest room in the house and quite convenient. The floor is covered with a soft purple velvet rug. In the center of the room is a beige sofa, sitting on it feels very soft. Next to it is the glass shelf to contain TV. I put on it a lot of teddy and a flower vase to decorate. The left corner of the room is a wooden cabinet, with many drawers. The largest drawer is the place my father storage wine, there are many types of wine such as claret, vodka, .... In other drawers, mother puts many books, photos, certificate of merit and have a desktop phone, all are arranged neatly. At the ceiling there is a colorful chandelier, it is often turned on the holidays, celebrations, ... On the wall, I hang a lot of artwork to decorate the room. In the corner of the room, this is also the place where I love best because there is a small aquarium. Mother bought so many colorful fishes such as sailfish, carp, ... Every day, I supply them with food so they look so chubby. All members in our family love this room so much, we keep it always clean and neat. In the future, it will definitely be furbished more, becomes more comfortable to welcome the members back home after a stressful day.

2.I am a student, live alone in a small apartment on the 12th floor of a residential area.To me, a beautiful living room is also a bedroom and a dining room. I paint the room pink color so it looks pretty young and warm. Right next to the door of the room, I have put a clothes hook to hang umbrellas, coat and bags. In the middle of the room is a soft brown sofa,it is also a temporary bed for me. There I put a big bear, which is my dear friend, shares with me the sadness or happiness and even loneliness when I feel homesick. In the left corner is a wooden bookcase. There are a lot of my favorite books, divided into several categories, neatly stacked on the compartment. Next to it is a furnace, which helped me dispel the cold of the icy winter days. On the walls I hung up many family photos, it makes me feel like I am at home, dispelling my nostalgia. Every day I go to school all the time, not until the afternoon do I come back home. After a tense and exhausted return from work, sit on the living room sofa, how wonderful it feels! On free days, I usually sit by the window, sip coffee and watch the city light up. At the moments I feel my soul so peaceful
