Gọi số HS lớp 7A, 7B lần lượt là a, b ( a, b ϵ N sao)
Theo bài ra ta có: a/ 5 = b/6 và 3b - 2a = 21
Vì a/5 = b/6 => 2a/10 = 3b/18
Áp dụng tc dãy tỉ số bằng nhau ta có:
2a/10 = 3b/18 = 3b - 2a/18 - 10 = 21/8
có 2a/ 10 = 21/8 => a= 13,125 (loại)
3b/18 = 21/8 => a 15,75 (loại)

\(\frac{x}{2}=\frac{y}{3}=\frac{z}{2}\) hay \(\frac{2x}{4}=\frac{3y}{9}=\frac{z}{2}\)
Áp dụng tính chất dãy tỉ số bằng nhau ta có:
\(\frac{2x}{4}=\frac{3y}{9}=\frac{z}{2}=\frac{2x-3y}{4-9}=\frac{100}{-5}=-20\)
suy ra: \(\frac{2x}{4}=-20\)\(\Rightarrow\)\(x=-40\)
\(\frac{3y}{9}=-20\)\(\Rightarrow\)\(y=-60\)
\(\frac{z}{2}=-20\)\(\Rightarrow\)\(z=-40\)

Ta gọi số học sinh của ba khối lớp 6, 7, 8 là a, b, c
Ta có: \(\frac{a}{2}=\frac{b}{3}=\frac{c}{4}\)và a+c-b=117
\(\Rightarrow\)\(\frac{a}{2}=\frac{b}{3}=\frac{c}{4}=\frac{a+c-b}{2+4-3}=\frac{117}{3}=39\)
Với:
\(\frac{a}{2}=39\Rightarrow a=78\)
\(\frac{b}{3}=39\Rightarrow b=117\)
\(\frac{c}{4}=39\Rightarrow c=156\)
Tổng số học sinh giỏi của cả 3 lớp là:
78+117+156=351 ( học sinh giỏi )
Vậy tổng số học sinh giỏi của cả 3 lớp là 351 em.
