Lời giải:

$x^2-7x-8=0$

$\Leftrightarrow (x^2+x)-(8x+8)=0$

$\Leftrightarrow x(x+1)-8(x+1)=0$

$\Leftrightarrow (x+1)(x-8)=0$

$\Rightarrow x+1=0$ hoặc $x-8=0$

$\Rightarrow x=-1$ hoặc $x=8$
