During their stay in Hanoi, most tourists insist on a trip to Van Phuc Silk Village, the famous silk village of Hanoi to contemplate the genuine traditional silk-making industry.

In order to cater for the changing demands and tastes of customers, Van Phuc silk producers are expanding their silk and garment repertoire: traditional glossy, embroidered silks, double layers, wrinkled silks, and of course, more colors, hues and weights, for which they have invented new techniques in dying and thermo-processing the threads.
If you are going to buy something from Vietnam as gifts for those at home, silk and clothes made of silk are available around in the village for your choice. Though the days when Vietnam’s silk was reserved for nobility are long gone, what would never change is the sense of romance and luxury imparted by silk, a luminous cloth type. Last summer, I had a wonderful vacation at My Khe beach – Da Nang. We traveled by plane to Da Nang which took us about 2 hours.
As soon as I arrived, I could see the large and beautiful sea. And at that moment, I wanted to run quickly to the sea, enjoy the clear blue water and fresh air. The weather in Da Nang was wonderful. There were many people there who swim, bathe, play soccer, windsurf; the children built sandcastles on the sea.
My family and I went back to the hotel to put the luggage. Then we ate seafood together. The service here makes me very satisfied. The food was very fresh and deliciously cooked. After eating and resting, we went to the sea. I was immersed in the cool water and the waves. It was great! I also get to meet foreigners. They were tourists and they are very friendly. In the evening we go for a walk at the beach and sing karaoke together on the sand.
We stayed in Danang for 3 days. I also went to souvenir shops to buy gifts for my friends. When I got back home I was very happy and a little bit regretful because I couldn’t stay longer. This was the best summer vacation I’ve ever had.

My family have 4 people. There are my mother,my father,my elder sister and me.My parents are both the same age, 50 years old.My father is a teacher ,he is very kind and hard-working. My morther is a nurse, she is interesting, I think she is the most funny person in my family. My elder sister is 18 years old, she is a student and she is very pretty,she not only learns well but also plays the piano very well, I think she will become a pianist in the future. My name is Tram and I am from Binh Dinh province/Vietnam. I am currently studying Finance and Economics at Van Lang University. I was raised in Binh Dinh and when I was 18 I moved to Ho Chi Minh city to take my university study. Last year I went to Da Nang city to join the school’s exchange program. During my exchange I went backpacking with other backpackers from all over the city to other province/city across Vietnam. It was a fun experience. I think I have been fortunate enough to be able to live in different parts of our country and thus be able to broaden my horizon.

She is a chubby girl with a pair of big round eyes. Her skin is bright, and it even makes her face become more prominent. My mother always tells her to cut off her diet or else she will never be a beautiful girl, but I think she is pretty in her own way and she needs to eat to grow properly. She is going to enter high school this autumn, and I love spending time to go to the bookstore with her to by her necessary supplies for the new semester. She is a good student at school, so she is very careful at picking up all of her stuff. I do not need to by her many new things, because she takes care of her old ones very well. She is a pretty shy girl, so she does not have many friends. I am can be considered as her best friend since she tells me about almost everything in her life. Sometimes I take her outside to play some sports, and she loves playing badminton and swimming. During summer time, we usually spend our free time at the pool, and sometimes I call some of her friends over so she does not feel lonely. Her hobbies are writing and drawing. She has a notebook which contains her short stories as well as her paintings, but she does not allow anyone to touch it even that it is me. Her dream is to be a fashion designer or an author because she is a very creative girl who always gets a lot of ideas in her mind. I’ve always been proud to be born into my family. One of the things I am most proud of is the carpentry tradition. My family has been a carpenter for three generations. Also, since childhood, I have seen many beautiful wooden products. To be able to create those products, it must go through many different steps. First, my dad will choose the type of wood and their size. After that, my dad will measure and cut the pieces of the wood to match. Next my dad will shape the wooden pieces. Once the wood pieces are finished, my dad will paint them with beautiful colors. I love watching my dad work. When I was growing up I wanted to continue the work my dad was doing. From there, many beautiful and useful wooden products can be created.

Lụa có rất nhiều công dụng như làm quần áo, đồ trang trí và một số ứng dụng khác trong cuộc sống. Quần áo bằng lụa rất thích hợp với thời tiết nóng và hoạt động nhiều vì lụa dễ thấm mồ hôi. Quần áo lụa cũng thích hợp cho thời tiết lạnh vì lụa dẫn nhiệt kém làm cho người mặc ấm hơn. Vì lụa có vẻ đẹp trang nhã, óng ánh nên hay được dùng làm đồ trang trí như màn, rèm. Ngoài dùng để may quần áo và làm thành các đồ thủ công, lụa còn được dùng làm dù (để nhảy), lốp xe đạp, chăn mền và túi đựng thuốc súng. Áo giáp chống đạn trước kia cũng làm từ lụa cho đến Đệ nhất Thế chiến.Bằng quá trình xử lí đặc biệt, tơ lụa có thể dùng làm chỉ không hấp thụ trong phẫu thuật. Các thầy thuốc Trung Quốc đã từng sử dụng lụa để làm mạch máu nhân tạo. Lụa cũng dùng để viết.
Nói tóm lại, dệt lụa là một nghề có nền văn hoá cao. Chính vì vậy, mỗi người trong chúng ta đều cần phải cố gắng bảo vệ truyền thống tốt đẹp đó để cho truyền thống nước ta thêm phong phú và đặc sắc hơn.
