Trong những năm 1950 hai thợ may ở Sài Gòn bắt đầu sản xuất “Áo Dài” với tay áo lửng. Điều này tạo ra một đường may chéo chạy từ cổ đến nách. People often say girls love to eat snacks, and I am the best demonstration of that statement. I to eat snacks more than the main meals of the day, and my favorite dishes are milk tea and mixed rice paper. Milk tea is a popular drink for young people, and I have at least one cup for almost every day. At first glance, this is a simple drink because there are just tea and milk with some cold ice. However, there are a lot of other stuffs to make a cup of milk with tea turn into an attractive drink. The combination that I most is jasmine tea, milk, cream cheese and jelly. The aroma of tea, the sweetness of milk, the fatty flavor of the cream cheese and the crispy feeling of jelly make me feel this is the best drink. I usually go to some of my favorite stores, and the staffs there even remember what I am about to order. The most suitable dish with milk tea is mixed rice paper. Some of the basic rolls are rice paper, shrimp salt, mango, dried beef, chili oil, and quail eggs, but buyers can choose the combination they . At lunch time I often buy a bag of mixed rice paper in front of the school entrance, then go to the store and buy a glass of milk tea. My mother always complains that I did not have a proper lunch, and she said that drinking too much milk tea is not good for me. After a time of eating whatever I , I feel that my mother's words are right. I still love these two dishes, but now I know how to adjust the level more appropriately. I drink a lot of water and choose other foods that are more nutritious, but milk tea and mixed rice paper are always my favorite.
My favourite restaurant is a small one near my university! It's on a busy street very near to a large park. It is quite a neat and beautiful place. From the outside, the restaurant doesn't look very impressive. There are large glass windows at the front, and some benches outside for people to sit on while waiting. Inside it has lots of square green wooden tables, each with about four white chairs around them. The walls are painted light green, and there are many nice scenery pictures on them. The restaurant has two floors; I prefer the second one, because there I can sometimes get a window seat and enjoy watching people go past in the street outside. The restaurant serves mainly breakfast and lunch meals. It serves many Vietnamese dishes and also fast food. The restaurant also has a wide selection of delicious, home-made cakes and they do really good coffee. However, of all the dishes in this restaurant I like fried chicken the most. It's very tasty. I think the reason I like this restaurant is because of its food and its staff. The staff members are helpful and friendly, so customers often have a pleasant time in this restaurant. The food is delicious as I've said. In general the service here is good. That's why my friends and I often go there when we want to eat out.
The Open House Polo Restaurant (Name/location)
The ‘Open House’ is a restaurant situated in the heart of a small village between three national forests and close to the horse´s capital city, Chantilly. It is the favourite hangout place for people from the polo, horse races, and golf world.
(Atmosphere/decor) As you enter the place you are welcomed by a magnificent setting, a delightful marriage of antique cut stones and the luxuries of modernity. Sitting in any table you have a wonderful view of the workshop-like kitchen where you can see the chefs working. For those who do not book a table and are waiting, there is a cosy lounge with aged leather armchairs and pictures of polo players displayed on the walls.
(The menu/dishes) The menu offers a wide variety of mouth-watering starters. I had the white asparagus accompanied by a mousseline sauce and poached eggs, while my friend tried the zucchini carpaccio served with sundries tomatoes and a mozzarella strudel. They were exquisite. The main course consisted in a risotto with scallop cooked in cream and a cassolette of coley with mussels, which really thrilled us. It all was followed by a delicious apple pie served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert.
(The ingredients/the wine/the prices) All the products were fresh and the dishes had the warmth of home-made food. The chefs takes great care in selecting the best quality ingredients. The restaurant also caters for all tastes by providing a large selection of the best wines of the region, which are pricy but worth sampling.
(The service/the waiters/the owner) What a pity that the service does not accompany the high quality of the cooking. You can hardly get a smile out of the waitresses. Thankfully the owner and hostess, a middle-aged charming woman, is always around willing to exchange some kind words with all her clients.
(Recommendation) Despite the high price of the food and the not so attentive waiters´ service, I had a pleasant dining experience with food of the most exquisite flavours. For this reason I highly recommend going to the Open House restaurant. Posted by SYB
