Hi, my name is Son and I'm a student from secondary school. As a secondary student in Viet Nam, we have to go to school 6 days a week, so I have quite a little free time. First of course, in my free time, I playing sports, especially some outdoor sports basketball or football, with my friends. Playing sports will help you have a healthy heart and connect people. Besides, when I have more free time, I would be happy to go on a picnic. One thing I really about picnics is fishing. You can relax and mingle with nature. If the weather is not good for hanging out, I just spend all day long at home playing video games. That is how I spend my free time, what's yours?

Xin chào, tớ tên là Son và tớ đang là học sinh THCS. Là 1 học sinh THCS ở Vietnam, chúng tớ phải đi học tận 6 ngày trên tuần, vì thế tớ có khá ít thời gian rảnh. Đầu tiên, trong thời gian rảnh rỗi, tớ thích chơi thể thao, đặc biệt là thể thao ngoài trời như bóng rổ hoặc bóng đá với bạn tớ. Chơi thể thao sẽ giúp bạn có trái tim khỏe và giúp kết nối mọi người. In my daily life, I have some hobbies such as travelling, cooking, listening to music and so on. However, I enjoy reading book most. To me, books are always a good friend. Firstly, reading books makes me feel relaxed after many long stressful hours at school. I really comic books because they contain a lot of colorful and interesting images that keep my spirit relax. Secondly, reading books is a good way to improve my vocabulary and grammar. For example, reading books tells me about the world’s history, let me see the structure of the human body, or bring me a story of Harry Potter. In conclusion, I think reading is one of the most interesting indoors activities.

Tet, also known as Lunar new year festival, is the biggest traditional festival in Viet Nam. Tet is usually from the end of January to early February. Before Tet, Vietnamese prepare many things for the three main days. They clean their house and decorate with flowers such as kumquat tree or peach blossom. A huge amount of food will be bought before Tet for making traditional dishes. Banh Chung, Banh Tet, Gio cha, Xoi and Mut, and candies are the foods that must have on Tet holidays. During Tet, people visit their relatives’ homes and give wishes. However, the Vietnamese believe that the first visitor a family receives in the year determines their fortune for the entire year, people never enter any house on the first day without being invited first. Another custom is giving lucky money, which is put into a red envelope as a symbol of luck and wish for a new age. Traditionally, elders will give lucky money to children and the oldest people in the family. However, nowadays, people can give it to anyone including friends, parents, neighbors. Besides, Vietnamese usually go to pagodas or temples to pray for health, wealth, success. To Vietnamese, Tet is the happiest time of all year around, members in a family can gather together, which is a meaningful messages of Lunar New year festival. All in all, Tet is all about back to origins, be good to others, enjoy the precious moment, and wish for the best to come.

Traditional Tet is one of the most important festivals of Vietnam. Just like in Western countries that follow Christianity, Christmas is a sacred and important holiday, so is the traditional New Year's Day. Traditional New Year's Day is called Lunar New Year or Lunar New Year, and is considered the most important moment of a year. The time starts on the 1st day of the 1st lunar month of the new year. The Lunar New Year usually falls between the end of January and the middle of February of a calendar year. Normally in Vietnam, every occasion to prepare for the Lunar New Year, everyone, whether working or going to school, has a holiday schedule. Normally, the time off is from one working week or more (for employees) and two to three days before December 30. To prepare for the important Tet holiday of this year, every family often buys a lot of new things, cleans the house, prepares a tray of rice to worship ancestors. And yet, on the traditional New Year's Day, there is also a custom to visit the elderly, family members, friends and neighbors every time Tet comes. At that time, homeowners or adults will give lucky money to children and elders with wishes at the beginning of the new year of peace, prosperity, and everything as desired. This is not only a custom but also a cultural beauty of the Vietnamese people, to show concern and hope for a full and peaceful life for everyone.

Last summer, I had an unforgettable summer holiday with my family in Dalat. Dalat is about 300 km to the north of HCM city. This city is famous for its romantic places, bright weather and delicious food. Additionally, it is known as love city in VN because it attracts large number of couples to visit, peaceful and beautiful landscape. When my family got there, we hired a hotel room in city center near Ho Xuan Huong lake and walked by the lake every nights. Beside, we also had good time to take part in several outdoor activities such as: visiting night market, flower park; tasting spring roll and soy milk. My sister and I brought many souvenirs from a store in order to give them for our friends and relatives. In second day, my family had a chance to visit Clay Village- a mini model, which describes ancient and modern Dalat. The construction is a masterpiece of art and attracts both Vietnamese and foreign tourists. Moreover, there is Langbiang so that visitors can hike climbing and enjoy roasted meats at the top of the mountain. However, my family chose to move by a jeep because nobody wants to be exhausted when getting there. It’s such a wonderful sightseeing trip. In the next few days, we went to Crazy House, which used to belong to Hang Nga- daughter of Truong Chinh. The villa has strange architecture with unique style as a mysterious castle. The tourists are really impressed with this house. After a week in Dalat, we decided to come back home. My parents go back to work at the office and I go bạck to school for a new year study. It’s an enjoyable holiday and I hope having a chance to go back Dalat in a near future.
After the stressful hours at school, some of the spare time at the end of the day is the time I spend to do what I like. Usually I would choose to listen to music, when I am in sad moods I hear soft ballads. In happy times I listen to Pop music in order to dance to the catchy tunes. When I have to deal with stressful issues, I listen to classical music to ease my nerve. Besides listening to music, reading and writing are some of the things that I love to do every time I have free time. I do not limit the genres of stories that I choose read, I can read from comics, horror to science fiction as long as I find it interesting. Thanks to reading a lot of books, my writing skills have improved a lot, and my vocabulary has also become richer. Whenever I have ideas, I often turn my thoughts into stories. I write about a lot of things, from the realistic life around me, the additional details in my favorite books to what I imagine. At first I wrote stories only for some of my close friends to read, but they suggested that I should post them on the websites so people could read and leave comments. Those compliments and comments made me feel very happy and proud of myself. I sometimes go out with my friends, and we like to go to many beautiful places to take pictures. We also love to go to the cinema together to watch the latest films, and then we go shopping or eat together. Those relaxing times add energy so I can start my other work efficiently. It is so great that I can do whatever I want, as long as I do not bother anyone.

Nhờ đọc nhiều truyện nên khả năng viết lách của tôi được cải thiện rất nhiều, và vốn từ ngữ cũng trở nên phong phú hơn. Mỗi khi có ý tưởng, tôi thường viết suy nghĩ của mình thành những câu chuyện. Tôi viết về nhiều thứ, từ cuộc sống thực tế xung quanh tôi, những tình tiết phụ thêm trong quyển sách tôi yêu thích đến những thứ tôi tự tưởng tượng ra. Lúc đầu tôi chỉ viết cho một số bạn thân của tôi đọc, nhưng họ đã gợi ý tôi đăng tải chúng lên những trang mạng để mọi người có thể đọc và để lại bình luận. Những lời khen và góp ý của người đọc làm tôi cảm thấy vui vẻ và tự hào về bản thân rất nhiều. Thỉnh thoảng tôi cũng ra ngoài đi chơi với bạn bè, và chúng tôi thích đi đến những nơi có phong cảnh đẹp để chụp ảnh. Ngoài ra chúng tôi còn cùng nhau đến rạp chiếu phim để xem những bộ phim mới nhất, sau đó cùng nhau đi mua sắm hoặc ăn uống. Những khoảng thời gian thư giãn đó tiếp thêm năng lượng để tôi có thể bắt đầu các công việc khác của mình một cách hiệu quả. Thật tuyệt làm sao khi thời gian rãnh tôi có thể tùy ý làm những gì muốn, miễn là tôi không làm phiền đến ai.
