I am part of a study group that is full of very
hard-working students. We meet three times
a week and help each other study. To be a
part of the group, you need to have an 'A'
average. If your grades fall below an 'A' you
can't come to the group anymore.
Sometimes, we have to kick students out of
the group. We all encourage, help and put
pressure on each other. Pressure helps us to
do better
Peer pressure can be a very dangerous
thing. We can be pressured to do things that
we would never normally do because of
pressure from a group. In the case of war,
people are pressured and convinced to kill
other people. Normally, most of us would
never kill another person. Less extreme is
smoking. Often teenagers smoke to look cool
so that they can be part of a group. Peer
pressure can convince us to do things that
are sometimes bad for us.
