Nowadays, large cities are becoming more and more inhabited. The majority of the population prefer living in a big town mainly because of the great advantages it has compared to living in the countryside. However, what are the benefits of this situation, and what are the drawbacks? In this essay, I will explore the pros and cons of living in a large city and try to draw some conclusions.
Let’s start looking at the advantages. One of the main positives of a big town is the large amount of shops available in every corner of the city. What I mean by this is that whenever you live, there are some useful stores supermarkets, banks, tobacconists and clothing stores where you can easily buy everything you need without going to the city center. Secondly, living in a big town is a big challenge for evening parties. In London, for example, there are so many things to do in the evenings going to the cinema, to the pub or to the park during the summer period.
Turning to the other side of the argument, traffic could be one of the major disadvantages of living in a big city. Many people take the car everyday and it has also been proved that the majority of the families have at least two cars. This means that you have to deal with rush-hour traffic on your way to work and on your way back. In addition, in a big town there is consequently a lot of smog and this can really affect people’s health.
To sum up, living in a big city has great advantages but also some significant negatives. You have to weigh up to the pros of enjoying evenings’ nights outside and the availability of many shops and the cons of cope with smog and traffic issues. Personally, I believe that the benefits of enjoying the city-life and the comfort of having shops at every corner, eventually overweigh the negatives.

Nowadays, more and more people choose to live in the city. In this essay, I will discuss about the advantages and disadvantages of living in the city.
It can't be denied that living in the city has many benefits. First of all, if we live in the city, we will have many chances get the developing science and technology. It means that we will have more job opportunities and broaden our knowledge more easily. Secondly, we will have many different ways to spend our free time. There are a lot of theatres, concerts and other kinds of entertainment. There is always a lot to do and visit There are a lot of possibilities of shopping. In various shopping centres and galleries you can buy whatever you want. What is more, a big city is a potential market for trading activities, so we can earn more money to provide our family a comfortable life
Besides advantages, living in the city brings to us a lot of disadvantages. Firstly, a problem about which everyone is worrying is environment. The increase of factories based on industrialization and modernization has severely polluted environment. Smoke from factories' chimneys not only pollutes the air but also makes people get many serious cancers. Sewage is bumped into rivers without being purged, which threatens underwater ecosystems. The second drawback of living in the city is society's vices such as drug addiction. Young people. especially the students, are easily spoiled by bad habits. If people use up all the money, they can't control themselves and even become robbers or murders. Moreover, a problem that many people living in the city have is heartlessness. With some people, it's not worth being worried and it has no effect on our life, people are too busy to care for any others. But if more and more people become heartless, the society will be worse, no one cares another one, they live boring lives, every purposes became meaningless, without love, sympathy and many other good things.
There are good things as well as bad thing of living in the city. However, I strongly believed that advantages outweigh disadvantages. If people know how to live and enjoy their life, living in the city is one of the most interesting things that people want to experience.

A number of people are concerned about living in urban areas mainly because of the great advantages it brings about. Initially, one of the main positives of city life is that it offers a great convenience of services to its dwellers. As a result, they stand the chance to receive the best possible healthcare and enjoy the endless entertainment options, as there is a huge range of recreational places and healthcare systems available in every city. Another notable point is that the urban areas open avenue for job hunting. Most of the corporate offices, factories, government offices, garments and companies are either situated in a city or close to the city. Hence, they will afford myriad employment opportunities, which helps job seekers to get a good position without much difficulty. Finally, the recent advancements in technology and transportation comfort the urban lifestyle. The vast amount of transports facilities has made life immensely easy to live in the metropolis areas and the commuting to work is not a problem. Futhermore, the media and means of communication enables people to get information, catch up with ages or contact each other. Briefly, living in a big city is generally considered to be beneficial in multiple ways due to its tremendous merits.

Secondly, there are various kinds of entertaiment for us to choose. There are many theaters and cinemas in the city, so we can spend our free time watching favorite movies or plays on the weekends. Thirdly, the city has well modern facilities such as supermarkets, shopping malls, places of interests easily. Finally, we can get access to means of transport easily in the city because there are many kinds means of transport such as trains, plans, buses. Living in a big city is difficult, but it also has many benefits. The benefit is that we will have a more modern and our living space. There will be restaurants big enough for us to interact and party as we please without being disturbed. But through that there are also many limitations or on the other hand called the difficulty of living in the city. There are a lot of difficulties like not being able to find a favorable long-term job while in the city leading to unemployment. There is a lot of street smog, especially atmospheric pollution, ... If you want to live in the city there will be many beneficial and harmful sides. In the countryside, the conditions will not be like the city, but still have a fully equipped life, but not many difficulties.

My hometown is Ho Chi Minh City, which is also known as Saigon. This is the biggest city of Vietnam, and it has a lot of interesting things. First, we have to mention the cuisine here. Since this is the biggest financial center of Vietnam, it attracts many people from different parts of the country. Therefore, they bring along with them the featuring foods from their regions, and this make Ho Chi Minh become the biggest food center as well. Second, people and the lifestyle here are also special. They love to go to shopping malls, movie theaters and coffee shops. The lights seem never go off here, and people start to go out at the time when most parts of the countries go to sleep. Despite sleeping late, they can go to work very early in the next morning. Going out is considered as a culture of Ho Chi Minh City, and the lifestyle here is very open and active. I love this city a lot, and I think it is worthy for people to live. In my opinion, there is nowhere that can be fun and comfortable like Saigon, so I will live here forever.
