Áp dụng bất đẳng thức ta có:

 |x-1| + |4-x |  \(\ge\)|x-1+ 4-x|  = 3

Dấu = xảy ra khi và chỉ khi :  (x-1)(4-x) \(\ge\)0

\(\Rightarrow\) 1\(\le\)\(\le\)4

Vậy 1\(\le\)\(\le\)4 là giá trị cần tìm
