If my memory serves me right, there have been countless disasters happening here in my beloved country, Vietnam. However, the most devastating one that I have ever witnessed was the storm 2 years ago which struck the middle part of Vietnam.
A week prior to the invasion of the storm, all TV channels broadcast the news about it, and the government called for the evacuation of people living in the way of the storm’s movement. It was really tough to take people out there within just one week, so the army as well as volunteers joined hands together to accomplish this impossible task. Luckily, around 90% of the population made their way out of the region in time.
Subsequently, a huge tidal wave crashed down the coastal areas and swept away all houses and other architectural structures. The volume of water was so enormous that nothing could remain unharmed under the destructive force of it. This storm came and brought along the pouring rain for 5 consecutive days, which flooded a vast swathe of land.
After the storm had subsided, the damage was estimated in terms of casualties and infrastructure. Due to the early evacuation, the number of deaths was limited to a minimal extent, while no building was intact at all. Immediately, all the volunteers and soldiers commenced rebuilding houses, saving injured people and providing survivors with food and fresh water.
To summarize, this disaster was the most horrible one to ever happen in history and jeopardized almost everything. Therefore, I will never forget this catastrophic event and will learn survival skills to save myself and my family in the future in case of an emergency.

Flood is one of the most dangerous disasters in the word. It’s the fact that every flood causes damage not only on property but also on people. Vietnam, the country with S-shape mainland located at Southeast Asia is affected severely by floods, especially int the middle of Viet Nam. Every year, there are about 10-15 floods coming into Viet Nam. The main reason is heavy rain with average annual rainfall from 1500-2000 mm due to its location. The influence of monsoon is also a reason that Vietnam has to be affected by storms and tropical depressions. Furthermore, being next to the sea, tides create floods in lots of regions which have poor drainage systems. Additionally, earth’ warming leads to the rising of sea level and deforestation have made the problem more serious. Floods destroy lands, paddy fields, houses, damage the facilities of middle areas. People lose their home and even lives due to floods. Although Viet Nam always support the local but it take time and right after they reconstruct their life, floods will be going to come again. To stop this, government are finding new modern solutions and giving precautions with warnings as soon as possible. I hope that in the future the Viet Nam will have a more effective solution and the locals in the middle areas will have a better life.

I love sudying English so I want to visit Australia - an English speaking country.
Australia is a country comprising the mainland of the Australian continent, the island of Tasmania and numerous smaller islands. It is the world's sixth-largest country by total area. Although Australia has no official language, English has always been entrenched as the national language.
1. Describe a friend
My best friend is Lan. We have known each other since we were 10 years old. However we became best friends when we were at grade 7. At that time I was very bad at English and it was who helped me improve my English. Now she lives with her parents in Nguyen Trai street.
If I were to describe how she looks I would say she is very pretty. She has long black hair a straight nose and a small pointed chin. She is quite slim. She doesn t like to dress up so I usually see her wearing jeans and a T - shirt. She has a very nice personality and a wonderful sense of humour but she can also get a little depressed from time to time. I can always count on her to be honest and to give me the best advice.
What I like about Lan is that she has same hobbies with me. We both enjoy singing karaoke reading comic books and going shopping. We like going to the cinema but sometimes can t agree on which movie to see. In addition since I am better in Maths and Chemistry and she is better in English and languages we can always help each other if we get confused about a difficult homework assignment. We are so lucky that we get along so well. I hope that our friendship can last long.
2. Describe a room in your house
My favorite room in my house is my bedroom. My bedroom is my man cave, spa, and gym. It's my man cave because me and my cousins hang out in that room. It's my spa because I realax in that room like if it was a spa. It's a gym because thats were I have my bench, dumb bells and punching bag. Sleeping in another room is nothing like sleeping in my room. I fixed up my own room. I painted it white and dark lime green, It's pattern'd. I have a 40 inch led hdtv plasma tv. My iguana cage makes my room cooler. I wanted my room to have tile on the floor. It doesn't matter any more now that were moving from that house. Were not moving far at all, it's only like a block away.
3. Talk about your family
Our family is large (small, not very large). We are the family of five (three, four, five, six): my mother, my father, two my brother and I. My mother's name is … She is … years old. She is a farmer(a teacher a doctor, a worker, an engineer). She is a very nice, kind and clever woman. My father's name is ... He is ... years old. He is a farmer, too (a teacher, an engineer, a doctor, a businessman). He is rather tall and strong. He is a man of strong character - and all of us love him very much. Both of my brother are machanics (students ,pupils). Their names are ... I love them very much.
We are a very good family. We love each other very much. In the evenings, when all the members of our family get together after work and study, we like to watch TV, to read books and newspapers, to talk about different things and to discuss all our problems together. When the weather is good we sometimes go for a walk. We have a small house in the country with a garden and a kitchen-garden. There is much work there and on week-ends we go there and work and have rest all together.
4. Talk about your hobbies. Why ?
Like everyone, I have my private hobbies. I have many hobbies such as watching horror films, reading novels, listening to music e.t.c But I like traveling best. Firstly, when I have to study or work too much, I usually feel tired and bored,so I want to refesh myself and travelling is a good way for me to relax.Secondly, travelling helps me widen my knowledge because I can pick up a lot of different cultures and study so much from them.Besides,I can learn foreign languages when I travel abroad. On the other hand, travelling makes my life more interesting because I can meet lots of people all over the world and make new friends. Finally, I can admire true beauty and enjoy it when I go to different places. However, it's hard for me to travel abroad because I'm always busy studying and I don't have much money. To sum up, I love travelling very much because it not only cheer me up but also keep my eyes open.
5. Talk about your village/town
I was born in a quiet village where the influence of the city is not much. It is a small village with a population of about two thousand people. It is a very good place for relaxation indeed.
In my village, people live very close to each another. The people are very simple in thought and behavior. Therefore they are friendly and helpful . So, the crimes of the city are almost unknown in my village. The people work together and live in peace. I love them. My village is surrounded by paddy-fields and a river. All these add great beauty and variety to my village scene. Although I do not like growing rice, but I really like the fields. It makes me have a good mood, a peace mood and a relaxed mood. Now I am living in Hanoi capital. I want to come back my hometown very much. Living among such friendly and simple people, in such a quiet village, is indeed a real pleasure.

Here are some of my tips for learning English well. For me, the best way has always been watching films, cartoons, TV shows and certain TV channels like BBC or Sky news. When I was little, I watched Cartoon Network and despite I didn't understood a word, I kept watching and now I see that it was a good thing to do. The second good way to learn English is writing several times the new words we learn, for instance, when I learned the colours or the numbers or even the name of our clothes, the homework was to write each new word five or ten times! This definitely helped me a lot! The next advice is to read more, not only books but newspapers and magazines as well! There is so much good and new vocabulary in a book that we have no idea! That's why I try to read in English at every opportunity that I have!

Australia is the smallest of the six continents and the only one having ‘one country’ in it. It remained cut off from the rest of the world after its geologic separation from Gondwanaland and its great distance from Europe, Americas and Asia. As a result very strange flora and fauna developed on this continent. It mostly consists of a flat, featureless land with no great rivers and no permanent snow covered mountains. The central lowlands are known for their underground water in their artesian basins. The Great Barrier Reef made up of coral rocks is a great tourist attraction.
Seasons in Australia are reverse of India because of the former’s location in Southern Hemisphere. It is mostly hot and dry as only 4% of the land is under cultivation. Wheat is grown extensively on the temperate grasslands in the Murray-Darling basin. Eucalyptus is the most common tree; nearly 700 varieties are found. The people have managed their limited land and water resources well.
Although the average density of the population is very low, most people live in the large cities and ports of the rainy eastern and south-eastern regions. Although the population is not much, Australia produces enough agricultural and industrial goods to meet its needs and still has plenty for export to other countries of the world.
