A virtual tourism is a simulation of an existing location, usually composed of a sequence of videos or still images. It may also use other multimedia elements such as sound effects, music, narration, and text. It is distinguished from the use of live television to affect tele-tourism.
So virtual tourism in clear words means visualizing beautiful and heavenly destinations all across the world from a stagnant source and still enjoying the virtual experience.
There are both advantages and disadvantages to everything and some related to Virtual Tourism are listed below:
The advantage of Virtual Tourism!!
The traveler can get a 3D tour without stepping down: Their is nothing like knowing where you are going before you land at a sight. One of the big advantage is that the client or tourist can get a 3D tour of that location before arriving at the destination, the tourist can feel the culture of the city before arriving, that will try to make them more comfortable and feel less like outsider.
One of the undesirable aspects of tourism development is environmental degradation in destinations. Firstly, more and more natural resources such as water, energy, and soil are exploited due to the increase in visitor numbers, which may lead to the depletion of local resources. Secondly, pollution is also a serious issue making the authorities worried. Obviously, beverage bottles or cans and plas bags are freely disposed of at the tourist sites, posing a threat to the natural environment. Besides, the growth of vehicles to meet travel demand accidentally triggers or worsens traffic congestion, air and noise pollution in the overcrowded regions. Another bad influence of tourism is the devastation of the wildlife. The habitats of many wild plants and animals have been gradually lost because of building hotels, resorts and recreational zones. In brief, these negative impacts on the environment will be more serious if there are not appropriate measures.
