= (5x)2 - 2.5x.2y + (2y)2

= (5x - 2y)2

b) x2 - 6x + 8

= x2 - 6x + 9 - 1

= (x - 3)2 - 1

= (x - 4)(x - 2)

c) x2 - 5x - 14

= x2 + 2x - 7x - 14

= (x2 + 2x) - (7x + 14)
