Each country has many people who voluntarily take care of others. Many students in the USA often spend many hours as volunteers in hospitals, orphanages or nursing homes. They read books to the people in these places. Sometimes the students just visit them , play games with them or listen to their problems .
For boys who no longer have fathers, there is a voluntary organization called Big Brothers. Students take these boys to baseball games and help them to get to know things that boys usually learn from their fathers .

Every year students in many countries learn English. Some of these students are young people, other are teenagers. Many are adults. Some learn at school, others study by themselves. Many boys and girls learn English at school because it is one of their subjects. They study their own language, mathematics and English. Many adults learn English, because it is useful for their work. Teenagers often learn English for their higher studies, because some of their books are in English at the college or university. Other people learn English because they want to read newspapers or magazines in English.
