b. $x^7+x^5+1=(x^7-x)+(x^5-x^2)+x+x^2+1$

$=x(x^6-1)+x^2(x^3-1)+(x^2+x+1)$
$=x(x^3-1)(x^3+1)+x^2(x^3-1)+(x^2+x+1)$
$=(x^3-1)(x^4+x+x^2)+(x^2+x+1)$

$=(x-1)(x^2+x+1)(x^4+x^2+x)+(x^2+x+1)$
$=(x^2+x+1)[(x-1)(x^4+x^2+x)+1]$

$=(x^2+x+1)(x^5-x^4+x^3-x+1)$

$=(x^4-x^2+1)[(x^2+1)^2-x^2]$

$=(x^4-x^2+1)(x^2+1-x)(x^2+1+x)$

$x^3-5x+8-4=x^3-5x+4$

$=x^3-x^2+x^2-x-(4x-4)$

$=x^2(x-1)+x(x-1)-4(x-1)=(x-1)(x^2+x-4)$

$x^5+x^4+1=(x^5-x^2)+(x^4-x)+x^2+x+1$
