Nowadays, the world is becomming morderner with the development of the internet and machines. To keep up with this age, we must have important skills in order to be successful in our life. From my point of view, communication is one of these. First of all, communication helps us exchange thoughts and informations with our colleagues and make everybody understand our ideas. In the work, we always need to discuss and exchange in order to give the best way to complete the business. Hence, communication skill is very important. Secondly, communication assists us to keep relationship in good condition. If a manager is on good term with his colleagues and his boss, he can have a comfortable working environment or may be high promotion ability. Finally, communication aids us in making friends. In this modern world, having a wide relationship is a big advantage for us. In conclusion, from my perspective, communication is an important skill a person should learn in order to be successful in the world today.

Upon the question that what is the very important skill a person should learn in the world today,
different people have differnt opinions. In my point of view, I perfer to think that communication
is the most impotant skill for almost every person. There are many reasons to support my view.

Firstly, communication is a bridge between people. Nobody is omnipotent; people depend on one
another in their daily lives. We all hope we can be become the person who masters every skills
and can complete every kind work by ourselves. However the real world tells us that this just is a
dream. Therefore, people are interdependant, no can can say that he does not need other people's
help. The society requires cooperation among people. Communication is the link. Communication
is the first step of successful cooperation among people. By communication, we exchange of
thoughts and information, and get other people understand our needs and ideas. For example, in a
company, big or small, a manager always has to communicate with his boss, coleagues and
subordinates.

Secondly, communication can help us keep friendship and make new friends. Friends need to
communicate to each other, so that they know each other's needs and feelings. Indeed, the most
important qualities of a friend is communication and understanding. If you are a good
communicator, it is very easy for you to keep your friendship and make new friends. If you do not
communicate with your friends, you will not only feel lonely, but also can eventually loss your
friends.

From all above, I think that communacation is the most important skill for people to survive in this
society. I hope everybody works hard to get the skill.

Nowadays people say that we have stepped into "The Information Age", therefore computer skills
are one of the most important skills in today's society. Being able to operate a computer is an
advanced technique and can increase one’s work efficiency and simplify many works.

Using a computer can help people do many complex works. You can calculate a very complex
arithmetic problem. Many arithmetic problems in engineering are too complex to work out by
hands. A computer can do these works conveniently and easily. You can also look for some
references from a foreign country from a computer if you login in the Internet. You can save your
documents in some discs on a computer no matter how large they are and you do not need to take
a lot of paper.

Using a computer can increase your work efficiency. With its help, you can book plane tickets
and hotel rooms for a business trip. You can easily compile your files in a shorter time and retrive
them whenever you need. If you are an engineer, you can control machines automatically with the
help of a computer. The products are more precise than those controlled by hands and the product
efficiency is higher. You can save a lot of time to consider other things and this is important for
your success.

If you can operate a computer, you can sit down in your own home and control distant work. All
you need to do is pressing some keys. With the help of a computer, your work can be simplified.
You also can use a computer to communicate with your friends by e-mails and it is quicker and
safer than ordinary means.

There are many other skills a person should learn to be successful, but I think that being able to
operating a computer is the most important.

Life in the Universe

Exobiology is the study of life that originates from outside of Earth. As yet, of course, no such life forms have been found. Exobiologists, however, have done important work in the theoretical study of where life is most likely to evolve, and what those extrateưestrial life forms might be like.

What sorts of planets are most likely to develop life? Most scientists agree that a habitable planet must be terrestrial, or rock-based, with liquid surface water and biogeochemical cycles that somewhat resemble Earth’s. Water is an important solvent involved in many biological processes. Biogeochemical cycles are the continuous movement and transformation of materials in the environment. These cycles include the circulation of elements and nutrients upon which life and the Earth’s climate depend. Since (as far as we know) all life is carbon-based, a stable carbon cycle is especially important.

The habitable zone is the region around a star in which planets can develop life. Assuming the need for liquid surface water, it follows that most stars around the size of our sun will be able to sustain habitable zones for billions of years. Stars that are larger than the sun are much hotter and bum out more quickly; life there may not have enough time to evolve. Stars that are smaller than the sun have different problem. First of all, planets in their habitable zones will be so close to the star that they will be “tidally locked” – that is one side of the planet will always face the star in perpetual daylight with the other side in the perpetual night. Another possible obstacle to life on smaller stars is that they tend to vary in their luminosity, or brightness, due to flares and “star spots”. The variation can be large enough to have harmful effects on the ecosystem.

Of course, not all stars of the right size will give rise to life; they also must have terrestrial planets with the right kind of orbits. Most solar systems have more than one planet, which influence each other’s orbits with their own gravity. Therefore, in order to have a stable system with no planets flying out into space, the orbits must be a good distance from one another. Interestingly, the amount of space needed is roughly the width of a star’s habitable zone. This means that for life to evolve, the largest possible number of life-supporting planets in any star’s habitable zone is two.

Finally, not all planets meeting the above conditions will necessarily develop life. One major threat is large, frequent asteroid and comet impacts, which will wipe out life each time it tries to evolve. The case of Earth teaches that having large gas giants, such as Saturn and Jupiter,.in the outer part of the solar system can help keep a planet safe for life. Due to their strong gravitation, they tend to catch or deflect large objects before they can reach Earth

What is the topic of the passage?

A. The search for intelligent life

B. Conditions necessary for life

Read the following passage and mark the letter A, B, C, or D to indicate the answer to each of the question.

There are many mistakes that people make when writing their resume (CV) or completing a job application. Here are some of the most common and most serious.

The biggest problem is perhaps listing the duties for which you were responsible in a past position: all this tells your potential employers is what you were supposed to do. They do not necessarily know the specific skills you used in executing them, nor do they know what results you achieved - both of which are essential. In short, they won’t know if you were the best, the worst or just average in your position.

The more concrete information you can include, the better. As far as possible, provide measurements of what you accomplished. If any innovations you introduced saved the organization money, how much did they save? If you found a way of increasing productivity, by what percentage did you increase it?

Writing what you are trying to achieve in life - your objective - is a waste of space. It tells the employer what you are interested in. Do you really think that employers care what you want? No, they are interested in what they want! Instead, use that space for a career summary. A good one is brief - three to four sentences long. A good one will make the person reviewing your application want to read further.

Many resumes list ‘hard' job-specific skills, almost to the exclusion of transferable, or ‘soft’, skills. However, your ability to negotiate effectively, for example, can be just as important as your technical skills.

All information you give should be relevant, so carefully consider the job for which you are applying. If you are applying for a job that is somewhat different than your current job, it is up to you to draw a connection for the resume reviewer, so that they will understand how your skills will fit in their organization. The person who reviews your paperwork will not be a mind reader.

If you are modest about the skills you can offer, or the results you have achieved, a resume reader may take what you write literally, and be left with a low opinion of your ability: you need to say exactly how good you are. On the other hand, of course, never stretch the truth or lie.

According to the passage, what information should candidates include in their resume?

A. specific skills for previous jobs

B. the past achievements

C. previous positions

D. future objective

Từ khóa: information/ include in their resume

Căn cứ các thông tin trong đoạn văn:

“The biggest problem is perhaps listing the duties for which you were responsible in a past position: all this tells your potential employers is what you were supposed to do. They do not necessarily know the specific skills you used in executing them, nor do they know what results you achieved - both of which are essential” (Vấn đề lớn nhất có lẽ là liệt kê các công việc mà bạn đã làm trong chức vụ trước đây: tất cả những điều này nói cho nhà tuyển dụng tiềm năng của bạn biết những gì bạn có thể làm được. Họ không cần thiết phải biết những kĩ năng cụ thể bạn đã sử dụng để thực hiện các nhiệm vụ đó, họ cũng không cần biết kết quả bạn đã đạt được là gì – cả hai thứ đó đều rất quan trọng).

“Writing what you are trying to achieve in life - your objective - is a waste of space.” (Viết về những điều bạn đang cố gắng đạt được trong cuộc sống - mục tiêu của bạn - là một sự lãng phí giấy).
