At sixteen Henry Vincent was separated from his family as a result of the war. He wandered aimlessly from one country to another 1 before finally settling down in Australia, 2 where he trained AS an electronics engineer. He established HIS own business but it called for so much work that marriage was out of the 3 question.
His retirement suddenly made him realise how lonely he was and he decided to 5 take up a hobby. Whit his interest in electronics, amateur radio seemed a natural choice. He installed his own equipment and obtained a license and his call sign, which is the set of letters and numbers used to identify oneself when making radio contact 6 with other radio amateurs all around the world.
Soon Henry had a lot of contacts in far-off places. One in particular was a man in California with 7 whom he had much in common. One night the man in California made to mention the village in Europe he had come from. Suddenly, Henry realised that this man was in fact his younger brother, Peter. At first, the two brothers were at a 8 loss for words but then little by little they filled 9 in the details of their past lives and not long afterwards Henry Vincent flew to California to 10 be reunited with his brother.

Once a farmer lived a comfortable life with his family. His chickens laid many eggs which the farmer used to buy food and clothing for his family. One day, he went to collect the eggs and discovered one of the chickens laid a gold egg. He shouted excitedly to his wife: “We are rich! We are rich! “ His wife ran to him and they both

looked at the eggs in amazement. His wife wanted more, so her husband decided to cut open all the chickens and find more gold eggs. Unfortunately, he couldn’t find any eggs. When he finished, all the chickens were dead. There were no more eggs of any kind for the foolish farmer and his greedy wife.

One hot day, an ant was searching for some water. After walking around for some time, she came to a spring. To reach the spring, she had to climb up a blade of grass. While making her way up, she slipped and fell into the water. She could have drowned if a dove up a nearby tree had not seen her. Seeing that the ant was in trouble, the dove quickly plucked off a leaf and dropped it into the water near the struggling ant. The ant moved towards the leaf and climbed up there.

Soon it carried her safely to dry ground. Just at that time, a hunter nearby was throwing out his net towards the dove, hoping to drop it. Guessing that he was about to do, the ant quickly bit him on the heel. Feeling the pain, the hunter dropped his net, the dove was quick to fly away to safety

"I will think of it."It is easy to say this; but do you know what great things have come from thinking? We can not see our thouhts, or hear, or taste, or feel them;and yet what mighty power they have! Sir Isac Newton was seated in his garden on a summer's evning, when he saw an appe fall from a tree. He began to think, and, in trying to find out why the apple fell, discoveed how the earth, sun, moon, and stars are kept in their places. A boy named James Watt sat quitly by the firside, watching the lid of the tea kette as it moved up and down. He began to think; he wanted to find out why the steam in the kettle moved the heavy lid. From that time he went on thinking and thinking; and when he became a man, he improved the steam engine so much that it could, with the greatest ease, do the work of many horses. When you see a steamboat, a steam mill, or alocomotive, remember that it would never have been built if it had not been for the hard thinking of someone. A man named Galileo was once standing in the cathedral of Pisa, when he saw a chandelier swaying to and fro. This set him thinking, and it led to the invention of thependulum. James Ferguson was a poor Scotch shepherd boy. Once, seeing the inside of a watch, he was filled with wonder. "Why should I not make a watch?" thought he. But how was he to get the materials out of which to make the wheels and the mainspring? He soon found how to get them: he made the mainspring out of a piece of whalebone. He then made a wooden clock which kept good time. He began, also, to copy pictures with a pen, and portraits with oil colors. In a few years, while still a small boy, he earned money enough to support his father. When he became a man, he went to London to live. Some of the wisest men in England, and the king himself, used to attend his lectures. His motto was, "I will think of it;" and he made his thoughts useful to himself and the world.When you have a difficult lesson to learn, don't feel discouraged, and ask someone to help you before helping yourselves.Think, and by thinking you will learn how to think to some purpose.
