It is celebrated as a day of giving thanks for the blessing of the harvest and of the previous year. By the fall of 1621 only half of the pilgrims, who had sailed on the Mayflower, survived.

The survivors, thankful to be alive, decided to give a thanksgiving feast. The Plymouth Pilgrims were the first to celebrate the Thanksgiving. The Pilgrim leader, Governor William Bradford, organized the first Thanksgiving feast in 1621 and invited the neighbouring Wampanoag Indians to the feast. The first Thanksgiving feast was held in the presence of around ninety Wampanoag Indians and it lasted three days. Today is the first day of the college term. I have just got my new timetable. The first lesson is English. This lesson begins / starts at nine o'clock and finishes at ten to ten. The next lesson is Geography and then we have a break. The break lasts from forty to eleven fifty-five. The two lessons after the break are Spainish and Math.

Tomorow we have Physics before the break and then History and English. On Thursday we have my favorite subject between ten fifty-five and twelve thirsty-five. There are twenty lessons each week but they all take place in the morning. We are very tired by lunch.

WALKING IS FUN
