The Earth is our home, but it seems that we do not do enough necessary things to protect it. People cut down the trees, kill thousands animals, and dig up the ground every day. All of our actions create only negative influences to the Earth, and I think we should do something to save it before it is too late. It is not hard for us to cut off products from animals. We do not need to use accessories which are made from animals’ skin and fur, and we should not use things that are made from toxic materials. The oceans now have more trash than living animals, and it is a terrible thing to imagine. We should reduce the amount of trash, especially plastic and toxic waste. Instead, we can use recycled things such as cloths, metal, or wood in our daily life. Everyone can join by doing such small things, and I think it is not very difficult. Environment is everything around us and what we need to maintain our life, so our priority should be keeping it clean and healthy.

The most common cause of water pollution is the direct disposal of industrial and human waste into the surface water. A reason worth mentioning is the oil spill. Another cause of water pollution is human waste. Various kinds of pathogenic bacteria live in human feces, and they may cause gastrointestinal infection if they appear in the water supply. To summarize, water pollution is mostly the result of oil spills and industrial or human waste disposal, which severely affects the environment and subsequently the life of animals and human.

Last, what I had learnt in reading skill can be applied perfectly in reading any kind of material. By scanning and skimming, I can understand thoroughly the main ideas of each page. In sum up, all of the four skills of English can particularly help me in a lot of aspects. I am happy that I started learning English at a very young age, and I will continue to practice it

Protecting the environment is protecting our health. Planting trees is one of the best ways to protect the environment. Trees provide us with oxygen, clean the air, and offer a home to many animals. To help the environment, take part in tree-planting activities in your neighborhood or plant a tree in your backyard. Environmental protection is not just something for adults, it’s something we, as students, can be a part of too.
