The transition of digital photography from the privilege of rich people to an ordinary home appliance has caused some problems. That is the reason a modern man has a set of questions concerning digital cameras. The basic problem in choosing a digital camera is the (guarantee) that the device you are purchasing will “grow old” in a couple of months due to constant improvements and developments of technology. The only factor that may delay this process of “growing old” is purchasing a device with the price twice or three times higher than the average market price for a digital camera at the moment. If a person chooses a digital camera, there are several criteria of a great priority he needs to keep in mind: the price and the image resolution of the camera, the capacity of the memory card, the presence of an LCD display, the interface of the device and (its) weight and size.
The price of digital camera (depends on) its quality factors. The resolution of a digital camera or the “size of a digital image, is measured in pixels which are photosensitive elements. It is common knowledge that the bigger the amount of pixels in the camera properties is, the better it is. Therefore, if a high- detailed photo is required, the usage of the zoom on a digital camera with low resolution will not give the desired result. In this case, a person choosing a digital camera needs to exactly know what it will be used for and to choose it according to its future destination. It is necessary to mention that the resolution of 640x 480 is the lowest resolution any customer should be orientated to. It is the minimal resolution with which the purchase of a digital camera still remains reasonable.
The lens of the camera or the zoom properties allows saving a lot on the price of the device but hits the quality of the pictures. The memory card is a very important issue, too. It is much better to choose a good camera with a small memory capacity than an average digital camera with a larger memory capacity. The presence of an LCD display is no longer a wish. It is a requirement for any digital camera. It allows people to check the future image, to anticipate it and to delete bad images and therefore to save space.

using devices and online systems that (they) don’t use themselves, and don’t really understand either. The generation gap is more prevalent than ever, but teachers can (bridge) that gap if they receive the right guidance with appropriate technology.
Some schools and teachers have particular trouble grasping the role of social media and mobile devices in teenage life. They consider Facebook a threat and warn parents against it at parent- teacher evenings, without realizing that preventing teenagers from using social media like this, or messaging apps such as Snapchat and Instagram, is nearly impossible. Online social media and
network gaming are now such an integral part of teenage behavior that any attempt to prize the mobile devices out of the hands of young people is likely to widen the generation gap rather than narrow it.
The generation gap in education isn’t just between pupils and teachers – it exists within the staffroom, too. A teaching career can span more than 40 years, and those towards the end of their working life will not have grown up with digital technology, whereas teaching staff in their 20s and 30s could well be “digital natives”.
Keeping up with the latest online trend is like (a dog chasing its tail); every time you think you’ve caught up, kids move on. However, it’s not beneficial to get fixated on how young people are using social networks that are, in the case of Snapchat, hard for the older generation to understand. The key factor to consider is that today’s school students now take for granted that a lot of their
communication with their peers will be online, and predominantly using smartphones and other mobile devices. Young people expect their educational experience to be similarly interactive, and partially delivered via these kinds of devices.

Question 1. Which of the following could be the best title of the passage?

Question 4. According to paragraph 2, which of the following is NOT true?
A. Some teachers and schools don’t want their children to use social networks.
B. It’s unlikely to stop students from using social media.
C. Separating teenagers from the mobile devices can help to narrow the generation gap.
D. Social media and network gaming become an important part of the behavior of teenagers.
Question 5. The generation gap exists even in the staffroom mostly because ______________.
A. the teaching career span is too long to adapt new technology.
B. the older teachers are not as familiar with digital technology as the younger.
C. many young teachers prefer using digital devices to operating others.
D. the older teachers are less unaffected by the development of technology than the younger.
Question 6. The phrase “a dog chasing its tail” in the last paragraph most probably means
______________.
A. keeping on doing something futile    B. moving around a circle
C. doing harm to yourself                      D. getting tired of your behavior
Question 7. According to the last paragraph, what is the main factor to consider in the generation gap between teachers and students?
A. It’s hard for the older generation to understand the social networks used by the young.
B. Students get accustomed to communicating with their friends online by smartphones and mobile devices.
C. Teachers should use these social networks to provide education.

Newspapers and television news programs always seem to report about the bad things happening in society. However, there is a place where readers can find some good news. That place is the website called HappyNews. The man behind HappyNews is Byron Reese. Reese set up HappyNews because he thought other news sources were giving people an unbalanced view of the world. Reese said about HappyNews, “The news media gives you a distorted view of the world by exaggerating bad news, misery, and despair. We’re trying to balance out the scale.”

Not everyone agrees with Reese’s view, though. Many people think that news sources have a responsibility to provide news that is helpful to people. People need to know about issues or problems in today’s society. Then they are better able to make informed decisions about things that affect their daily lives. Reese said that HappyNews is not trying to stop people from learning about issues or problems. HappyNews is just trying to provide a balanced picture of today’s world.

By the end of its first month online, HappyNews had more than 70,000 unique readers. About 60 percent of those readers were women. Something else unique makes HappyNews different from any of the other news or information websites that are on the Internet. Unlike many other websites, HappyNews gets fan mail from its readers on a daily basis.

Why might some people NOT like HappyNews?

A. It doesn’t tell them about important issues or problems.

B. Reese’s stories are about misery and despair.

C. Some sources give a balanced view.

D. The stories are from around the world.

Millions of people are using cellphones today. In many places, it is actually considered unusual not to use one. In many countries, cellphones are very popular with young people. They find that the phones are more than a means of communication - having a mobile phone shows that they are cool and connected.

The explosion in mobile phone use around the world has made some health professional worried. Some doctors are concerned that in the future many people may suffer health problems from the use of mobile phones. In England, there has been a serious debate about this issue. Mobile phone companies are worried about the negative publicity of such ideas. They say that there is no proof that mobile phones are bad for your health.

On the other hand, medical studies have shown changes in the brain cells of some people who use mobile phones. Signs of change in the tissues of the brain and head can be detected with modern scanning equipment. In one case, a traveling salesman had to retire at young age because of serious memory loss. He couldn't remember even simple tasks. He would often forget the name of his own son. This man used to talk on his mobile phone for about six hours a day, every day of his working week, for a couple of years. His family doctor blamed his mobile phone use, but his employer's doctor didn't agree.

What is it that makes mobile phones potentially harmful? The answer is radiation. High-tech machines can detect very small amounts of radiation from mobile phones. Mobile phone companies agree that there is some radiation, but they say the amount is too small to worry about. As the discussion about their safety continues, it appears that it's best to use mobile phones less often.

The most suitable title for the passage could be ____.

A. Technological Innovations and Their Price

B. The Importance of Mobile Phones

C. Mobile Phones: A Must of Our Time

Use your regular phone if you want to talk for a long time. Use your mobile phone only when you really need it. Mobile phones can be very useful and convenient, especially in emergencies. In the future, mobile phones may have a warning label that says they are bad for your health. So for now, it's wise not to use your mobile phone too often.

A. the mobility of the mind and the body
