Ha Long Bay is one of the seven natural wonders in the world. Ha Long Bay is located in Quang Ninh province which is in the north of Vietnam. It is nearly 200km from Hanoi. So it takes you about 4 hours by car. You can also travel there in a coach or even in a helicopter on Saturday. The best season to visit Ha Long is in summer when the weather is warm and sunny. Ha Long Bay has many beautiful caves and islands; therefore, you must take a boat trip to enjoy the view here. You certainly must take pictures to remember the trip better, too. If you are an active person, you must do the water sports here like swimming, sailing, and windsurfing. One more thing, you must try the seafood here because it is incredibly fresh and delicious. With this travel guide, I hope that you will have a wonderful time here in the number one natural wonder of Vietnam.

I would like to talk about the Lunar New Year festival, also known as the Tet holiday, which is the occasion expected the most by Vietnamese people every year. The festival usually lasts for around 3-4 days, and it takes place when a new year comes according to the lunar calendar.

– The Lunar New Year festival takes place because it is one of the most well-known traditions of Vietnam. Our people have been celebrating this occasion for thousands of years, and although there has been some recent argument about whether we should stop celebrating this festival, I do not think this activity will come to an end soon, at least not in the short term.

– There are some common things that people do during this festival. Perhaps the most important thing is that people who work and study in big cities would go back to their hometown to celebrate the new year with their families and relatives. The new year festival is one of very few occasions that families can gather together, so it is easy to understand why everyone in Vietnam expects this festival so much. Another thing that we usually do is that we give children some “lucky money” with the hope that it will bring fortune to those kids. We also have some other activities such as making “chung” cake, visiting temples and pagodas… and so on.

– The new year festival is so important to me and also to all Vietnamese citizens. The reason is because we get more days off from work and study, and therefore we have more time to spend with our families and our loved ones. It is also a great time to think about what we have done in the previous year, and to make plans for the upcoming year.

. Temple of Artemis at Ephesus

The Temple of Artemis was reckoned by Antipater of Sidon, the Greek poet, to be the finest of the ancient wonders. He wrote: "When I saw the house of Artemis that mounted to the clouds, those other marvels lost their brilliancy, and I said, 'Lo, apart from Olympus, the Sun never looked on aught so grand'." After being destroyed twice, by floods and arson, the third - and greatest - incarnation began in 323BC. It survived until 268AD, when it was damaged or destroyed during a Goth raid. The site of the temple was rediscovered in 1869, and fragments of it can be found in the British Museum. Ephesus was given World Heritage Site status in 2014.

The Eiffel Tower is a wrought iron lattice tower on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France. It is named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower. It's very famous, more than 250 million people have visited the tower since it was completed in 1889. As one of the most iconic landmarks in the world, the Eiffel Tower has been the inspiration for the creation of many replicas and similar towers. I really want to visit Paris to see this tower.

While all of the well-known wonders in the world are definitely worth visiting (why else would they be well-known?), it’s sometimes nice to get a bit off of the beaten path and experience the cultural and natural wonders of the world – especially if it means fewer crowds. The world isn’t limited to the same old hot spots that have been mentioned in guidebooks for ages. So for your next vacation, instead of trekking off to that place you’ve heard a million people talk about, strike out for one of these hidden gems and discover unique experiences all your own.

You’ve probably heard of the famous ancient Roman ruin of Pompeii, but what about the ruined villages of Paricutin and San Juan Parangaricutiro? Destroyed in the early 1940s by the sudden emergence of Paricutin volcano, all that remains are these cathedral ruins

Centuries ago in Ancient Greech, a man by the name of Antipater of Sidon compilied a list of what he thought were the seven wonders of the world. The seven included the Hanging Gardens of Babylon in present-day Iraq, The Statue of Zeus in Greece, and the Pyramid of Cheops in Egypt. The pyramid is the only wonder you can still see today. Many people claim that there were other wonders, which the ancient Greeks knew nothing about. These include the Great Wall of China, the Taj Mahal in India and Angkor Watt in Cambodia.

Angkor Watt should really be known as a wonder because it is the largest temple in the world. The temple was built around the year 1100 to honor a Hindu God, but over the next three centuries it became a Buddhist religiour center. The area surrounding the temple, Angkor Thom, used to be the royal capital city.

1. Who compiled a list of seven wonders of the world?

2. Why should Angkor Watt really be known as a wonder?

3. Did Angkor Thom use to be the royal capital city?

4. When was Angkor Watt built?

5. Where is the Gardens of Babylon now?

In 1815, Thomas Raffles set off with a small party to see what he could find. They traveled for many weeks, and finally arrived at the site of Borobudur. Raffles was astonished by what he found.
