Giới từ thường theo sau động từ, tình từ để bổ trợ cho từ đứng sau nó. Mỗi giới từ khi theo sau 1 động từ, tính từ khác nhau có thể có nhiều nghĩa khác nhau

giới từ nhiều nhưng lớp 6 chủ yếu học về (to/for/on/in/at/...v...v...)

VD1: I live in Ha noi ( trường hợp này giới từ ko nhất thiết đi cùng ''live'' mà tuỳ vào địa điểm (Hà nội)
