Van Mieu constructed in 1070 during Ly Thanh Tong 's dynasty. Its original purpose was to honor Confucius. In 1076, the first university of Vietnam called Quoc Tu Giam, was established within this temple by Emperor Ly Nhan Tong. That's the reason why the complex has the name of Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam up to now. Initally, Quoc Tu Giam was the school for princes and chirlden of royal families and then expended in the following year to admit top students from around the country
Nowadays, Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam is one of the most famous tourist destinations for both Vietnamese people and foreigners. It's also a place to celebrate doctorates and high ranking scholars of Vietnam. One special thing about this place is that there are 82 Doctors' stone tablets. They are tombstones with names and origins of 1304 doctors placed on the backs of stone tortoises. If you come here at the beginning of the year or in May, when many important examinations take place, you will catch sights of numerous families and students who come and pray for luck.

With fast growth of civilization there is also an ever mounting need for energy. Energy may be in the form of fuels or electricity. Petrol is a liquid fuel which is used widely nowadays. But this kind of fuels is likely to be exhausted at the rate man is using it recently.
To meet the challenge, various methods have been suggested. One is to minimize the man’s demand in using the energy. Non-essential consumption should be minimized. During certain days of the year, people all over the world turn off the electricity for 1 hour to save the energy. Modern gadgets consuming energy should only be used when they are absolutely necessary.
Energy conservation is possible through modernization of plant and equipment. People should replace the obsolete equipment by the modern ones.
Energy can be saved on transport by the following methods. People should commute by the rail rather than by cars and vans. The transport must be improved with a view to sparing the energy. Cities must be planned in such a way that the commuting distance from this place to others is minimized.
In industry, many things could be done to reduce waste of energy or to economize energy. The machine maintenance needs to be tightened; heater must be utilized properly. When systems are streamlined, economy in fuel is obvious. Instead of using materials requiring higher energy, those which require lower energy should be used.
We hope man with his ever rising urge for existence will cope up with this urgent problem and find alternatives.

My mother had a business trip to Da Nang last weekend, and I had a chance to visit this beautiful city with her. She worked for one morning, and the rest of the time she took me outside to visit some famous places. The first spot was the Hoi An ancient town, which was a completely different world from the busy roads out there. I took many pictures with the lanterns, the old corners, and enjoyed some of the very delicious food. In the evening, we took a short trip to Dragon Bridge - a symbol of Da Nang City. Since it was Saturday night, we had chance to witness the Dragon head blowing fire and water. It was such a wonderful view, and I was really impressed by that. Next we went around the city to enjoy the nightlife here, and Da Nang was very different from Ho Chi Minh City. Next morning, we woke up pretty early to go to My Khe beach - which is also known as one of the six most beautiful beaches of the world. The sand was white, the water was crystal clear, and the ranges of coconut made the atmosphere seemed so poe. In the afternoon, we visited the Asian Park - Sun World Da Nang Wonder so I could play some interesting games. In the evening, we went to two other famous bridges - the Han River and the Love bridges. Both of them were so beautiful, and it was a pity that we did not have more time to actually enjoy the view. I left Da Nang in regret that night, and I had to admit that Da Nang was such a worthy city to live.

Now is the year 2050 and let me introduce myself, I am a wealthy businessman in the tour around the world. All of the places I have gone through are large cities with magnificent buildings. Many big and small companies, factories, food stores, clothing stores grow up rapidly like mushrooms. Life here is happy, warm, no longer famine, poverty, all children go to school. Surprisingly, traffic congestion has been thoroughly improved. Individual has their own dream; therefore we always set plan for what we are going to. I am now freshman studying English linguistic at a university in HCMC. I will do IELTS test in the third year so that it will bring me higher job opportunity. I am now practicing English day by day in order to improve listening and speaking skills. Children only learn grammar and writing technique in the school; however, they don’t have a chance to try their best in authentic environment. I am a volunteer for some international meeting hold in Vietnam; therefore I have friendly environment to develop and discover my potential. Studying from school and book are traditional way, sometimes it doesn’t include much benefit than take part in outdoor activity. Beside, applying for extra job is also my intention. I applied to be a waitress in a coffee store and I am now waiting for the result. When doing this kind of job, one makes friend with a lot of people and keeps in touch with many relationship. It helps them be more confidence, responsible and independent in life. Teacher and school teach student basic knowledge, one must attend the outside world and learn from real experience. I intend to learn teaching method as my dream is becoming an English teacher one future day. I always hope to teach student living in isolated area so as to bring knowledge to all parts of my country. Therefore, I increase my effort to finish academic program as well as acquire social skill. As English and language are necessary in modern society, I always choose to pursue my dream to become a professional English teacher.

My house is in Ha Noi capital. It is a big house. It has five rooms: one living room, one study room, one bedroom, one kitchen and one bathroom. In front of my house there is a yard. Behind my house there are three storehouses and a garden. In my living room, there is a big TV, two tables, two benches, four chairs, a computer and some pictures,…In my study room, there are two desks, three chairs, three closets, some books, a bookshelf and a computer. There is a small TV, two mattresses, five pillows, four blankets, and a teddy bear. There are some bowls, some cups, a fridge, a stove, a table, a cupboard and some pots,… in the kitchen. In my bathroom, there is a mirror, a toilet, a sink, some towels, some toothbrushes and some soaps. To the left of my house there is a wall. To the right of my house there are some trees. I love my house very much.
My house is located in a small quiet alley. That’s a pretty pink house which consists of 6 rooms in totally: a living room, a kitchen, a toilet, a bathroom and two bedrooms. There are a white leather sofa, a television and a sideboard in the living room. After dinner, my father will turn on the television, choose a great movie and we watch it happily. Next to the living room is the kitchen where is used for cooking and enjoying the meals. In the middle of the room is a dinner table which is made from wood. Three cookers, a refrigerator and all the neccesary stuff for cooking is arranged carefully in the right corner of the room. In the left of the kitchen is a clean toilet. Beside the toilet is the bathroom which is equipped a shower and a bathtub. There are only two rooms upstairs that is my parents’ room and my private room. I’ve decorated my bedroom with adorable wallpaper and many lovely stuffed animals. A single bed is placed next to the window so that I can stargaze before falling asleep. In the opposite of the bed are my desk and my bookshelf that contain many kinds of book. There are also an old television and a piano in my bedroom. I especially love the piano because that was the gift from dad in my birthday. In every Christmas or Tet holiday, all member of my family ornament the house together and then gather in the kitchen to cooking. Although my house is not too big but to me that is the most beautiful house in the world.
