The thing I liked most when I was small was the change of seasons. Spring, summer, autumn and winter. I could see them all come and go and each one was completely different. Now in the city, you can buy summer flowers in winter and eat the same vegetables all the year round! Whereas, in the country, I could only eat things at certain times of the years- for example strawberries in June and turnips in winter. I lived my childhood with the seasons.
Also we made most of our food and would never eat frozen or tinned food. Every thing was fresh, so it must be better than the type of food I am taking now in the city. City people may think people in the country miss a lot of things about modern life, but in my opinion they miss a lot more than them. They miss real life

I know that it is my job to make sure that everything goes well for the tourists and I feel I work hard for the company. I cannot be blamed for last week. I met the group at the airport and took them to the coach. The coach driver was a bit annoyed because the flight was late. But it wasn’t far to the hotel and everyone was looking forward to their dinner. We hadn’t used the Hotel Riviera before but our normal one had a conference in it so it was fully booked. When I announced our arrival at the reception desk, they said they were full. I had booked rooms for the group but the manager said they were cancelled by phone a few days before. He insisted that he recognised my voice and that I had made the phone call. We had a bit of an argument but they obviously didn’t have enough rooms. In the end, the manager phoned hotels in the town and found rooms for everyone. but in four different hotels. I have Learned, often the hard way, that there are a few simple rules about how to make life easier both before and after your journey. First of All, always check and double-check departure times. It is amazing how few people really do this carefully. Once i arrived at the airport a few minutes after ten. My secretary had got the ticket for me and i thought she said that the plane left at 10:50. I walked calmly to the departure desk, thinking I still had a little time to spare. I didn`t bother to take a good look at the ticket. The clerk at the desk told me politely but firmly that the departure time was 10:15 and that the flight was, according to international regulations, " now closed! ". I had to wait three hours for the next one and missed an important meeting.
The second rule is to remember that even in this age of credit cards, it is still important to have at least a little of the local currency with you when you arrive in a country. This can be absolutely essential if you are flying to a place few tourists normally visit. A few years ago, I took a business trip to Oklahoma. I flew there from London via Dallas, with very little time to change planes in between. I arrived there at midnight and the bank at the airport was closed. The only way to get to my hotel was by taxi and since I had no Dollars, i offered to pay in Pounds instead." Listen, Buddy! I only take Real money! " the driver said angrily. Luckily I was able to borrow a few dollars from a clerk at the hotel, but it was Embarrassing.
The third and last rule is to find out as much as you can about the weather at your destination before you leave, especially if you can take only a little baggage with you. I feel sorry for some of my colleagues who travel in heavy suits and raincoats in May, when it is still fairly cool in London or Manchester, to places like Athens, Rome or Madrid, where it is already beginning to get quite warm during a day. Few people understand just how important it is to have the right sort of clothes with you in these days of rapid air travel.

Underline odd words in the following paragraph.
It was a great to see you again after so long and to be able to discuss about all the things we used to do when we were students together learning english in London. I hope you had a good time journey home. Did the flight reach to Athens in time for you to get up your connection? I hope so. Do you remember I promised to send you that a book we talked about? Well, I've searched in everywhere for it but so far I haven't managed to find it. As soon as I will do, I'll put it in the post to for you - it's a really exciting story. And now I'd like to ask you about a favor, ont for me but for mys sister. She wants to have a work in Greece. She doesn't mind what she does- she would be to happy to work in a bar or to look after children. So if only you know of anything, please let us know. She'd like to spend until one year there from next January, which it should be possible. I think. She has been decided it is the best thing for her. I'm looking forward to know hearing from you soon. Give my regards to your family.
Best wishes, Costars
