Rural life is a pipe dream for many city people today. To what extend do you agree or disagree wit the above statement.

For many people, living in a city bores to them. So they tend to desire to inhabit in a secluded area with fresh air and picturesque views.

Firstly, the reasons for who don’t want to live in such a polluted city are a lot. The number of workload is so much. They might work overtime to make their livings or every morning the congestion of the traffic also make them feel tired. Especially, the criminal situation has gone up considerably.

Secondly, living in a countryside also has its own disadvantages. For instance, sometime, the electricity supply might fail. If you were bited a snake whose poison is very dangerous just only treated by some hospitals in cities, you might died after few minutes. It’s likely that the worst thing about the countryside is the educational conditions. In here, well-qualified teachers might not as more as ones in the city. The modern facilities tend to be non-existent.

In conclusion, neither living in the city nor the countryside is better than the other. The enjoyment depends on people and their favorites. We can’t put in comparison with them.

Many thousands of children have accidents in their homes. As a result, some children die. The most common accidents (1) are with fire and hot water. Small children often touch pots of boiling water on the stove. The pots fall over and the hot water falls on the children and burns them. (2) Some children like to play with (3) fire. Some kinds of clothing burn very easily (9). Many children (10) have been badly burned because they have stood near a fire and their clothing has suddenly caught fire.

Although fire and hot water cause most accidents in the home, many children cut themselves (11) with knives. Others get an electric shock (12). Some children are made very ill from taking their parents’ medicine. Many small children have to go to hospital every year because they thought a box of medicine was a box of sweets (13).

There is only one good way to see to it so that accidents do not happen (14) in the home: do not touch anything (15) that is dangerous.

Read the following passage and mark the letter A, B, C, or D on your answer sheet to indicate the correct answer to each of the questions.

Millions of people are using cellphones today. In many places, it is actually considered unusual not to use one. In many countries, cellphones are very popular with young people. They find that the phones are more than a means of communication - having a mobile phone shows that they are cool and connected.

The explosion in mobile phone use around the world has made some health professionals worried. Some doctors are concerned that in the future many people may suffer health problems from the use of mobile phones. In England, there has been a serious debate about this issue. Mobile phone companies are worried about the negative publicity of such ideas. They say that there is no proof that mobile phones are bad for your health.

On the other hand, medical studies have shown changes in the brain cells of some people who use mobile phones. Signs of change in the tissues of the brain and head can be detected with modern scanning equipment. In one case, a traveling salesman had to retire at young age because of serious memory loss. He couldn't remember even simple tasks. He would often forget the name of his own son. This man used to talk on his mobile phone for about six hours a day, every day of his working week, for a couple of years. His family doctor blamed his mobile phone use, but his employer's doctor didn't agree.

What is it that makes mobile phones potentially harmful? The answer is radiation. High-tech machines can detect very small amounts of radiation from mobile phones. Mobile phone companies agree that there is some radiation, but they say the amount is too small to worry about.

As the discussion about their safety continues, it appears that it's best to use mobile phones less often. Use your regular phone if you want to talk for a long time. Use your mobile phone only when you really need it. Mobile phones can be very useful and convenient, especially in emergencies. In the future, mobile phones may have a warning label that says they are bad for your health. So for now, it's wise not to use your mobile phone too often.

Question: According to the passage, cellphones are very popular with young people because _______.

A. they make them look more stylish

B. they are worrying

C. they are a means of communication

D. they are considered unusual
