Think of how many famous books and films are made in English or translated into only English, as well as a huge proportion of content on the Internet. Although there may be many fascinating books and films from your home country, if you can understand English, you’ll be able to enjoy media from all over the world instead of being limited to just that of your home country. You’ll be able to read stories, hear music, and read news that will not only be enjoyable, but will expand your view of the world.
You will be able to make friends that you might otherwise never have met
What if a person who could become your best friend happens to live on the other side of the planet? Sharing a language would be the only way to benefit from that wonderful friendship, and English is the most common second language of the world.
