Tet is a national and family festival. It is an occasion for every Vietnamese to have a good time while thinking about the last year and the next year. At Tet, spring fairs are organized, streets and public buildings are brightly decorated and almost all shops are crowded with people shopping for Tet. At home, every is tidied, special food is cooked,offerings of food, fresh water, flowers and betel are made on the family altar with burning joss- sks scenting the air. First-footing is made when the lucky visitor comes and children are given lucky money wrapped in a red tiny envelope. Tet is also a time for peace and love. During Tet, children often behave well and friends, relatives and neighbors give each other best wishes for the new year.

Vietnam is famous for its several holiday and festival, especially Tet holiday. It takes place from the first day of the first month of the lunar calendar until at least the third day. Although occurring in short period of time, it is believed to be the most important and popular holiday in Vietnam. There are many special food are made so as to prepare for Tet meal such as: sky square cake, Vietnamese sausage, sky rice and jam. The food is thought to reflect Vietnam’s habit and custom as well as Vietnamese’s lifestyle. Besides, the meal has other dishes fish, vegetable to show the hope for a successful and prosperous new year. In term of customs, children’s receiving red envelop from the elder, visiting relative’s houses and going to church are popular activities. Giving lucky money is thought to bring children hope and health. Church is the symbol of peace; therefore, individual go there and pray for successive year. Traditionally, the house is designed with peach flower in the North and Ochna integerrima in the south part of Vietnam. Besides, the house as well as town are clear, decorative and beautiful as all are ready to start a new year. People have cozy atmosphere and enjoy joyful time with their family’s members. It’s high time for people living at different parts of country gathering and spending time together. Tet is a chance for one to come back home after many stress and pressure of studying and working environment. Tet is not simply a holiday, it is culture and habit of Vietnamese since its deep meaning is sacred and important. All in all, Tet includes not only joy but also long-standing event in people’s soul as it helps one grow up through experience

Everyone has a place to be born, grow, grow and go far away, always remembering. That place is home. I also have a place that is always in my heart, this land, my parents, my grandparents, my friends and my childhood filled with the most memorable memories. I love my country, I love the people here.
In my mind, every countryside has a unique feature that cannot be confused. People in the countryside too, have their own personality and feelings.
My hometown has immense rice fields, running immense, but I haven't gone yet. My mother told me that going to the whole rice field is far away so I have never dared to go. In the golden season, the nursery's golden color makes you feel an endless yellow carpet. There are diligent buffaloes grazing on long, high dykes. There we can lie still and watch the sky cloudy, watch the sun set every time the sun falls into the high mountains.

Vào mùa lúa chín màu vàng ươm của lúa khiến cho em có cảm giác như một tấm thảm màu vàng bất tận. Có những chú trâu cần mẫn gặm cỏ trên những triền đê cao và dài. Nơi đó chúng em có thể nằm im và ngắm bầu trời có mây trôi, ngắm mặt trời lặn mỗi khi mặt trời đổ xuống dãy núi cao cao kia.

My parents’ hometown is Long An, but I was born and raised up in Ho Chi Minh City. People usually call it Saigon, and it is the biggest city of Vietnam. It has a lot of fascinating buildings and constructions since it is a modern and developing city. What I love about Saigon is that all the new and old things are perfectly harmonized. Behind the skyscrapers are the small alleys which contain a slower lifestyle and traditional values. My friends and I have a lot of places to go in our free time such as Nguyen Hue walking street, Tao Dan Park, Dam Sen Water Park, Suoi Tien theme park, and many other places which tourists usually visit. Besides the view, it can be said that Saigon is one of the food heaven that people should not miss when they come to Vietnam. We can find almost all kind of Vietnamese cuisine here, and we can enjoy featuring foods on floating restaurants on Saigon River. I love Saigon a lot, because both the people and the city itself are nice to me and whoever wants to visit it.

In the life of every human being, we must always have friends who help us overcome difficulties and side by side when having fun and sad things. I am not an exception, there is also a close friend who always shares and helps me when I have difficulties. Kha - that's my best friend's name.
Kha this year is her age, also ten years old. Kha has white skin chicken eggs peeled and slim figure. When you come to class, you will be neatly dressed in a white uniform with black pants, and long hair will be neatly tied behind your neck. Kha has a plump face and talking eyes. Your eyes are big and sparkling with a smile always curved a crescent moon, it is knowing how to laugh, sharing every time you are sad and cheering whenever you have fun. The voice of Kha is as clear as the sound of a golden bird every morning, so don't assume that the voice will be sour. Because that voice is very inspiring and extremely attractive. Kha often tells us the ghost stories she knows, with an attractive thrilling voice, which always makes us scream every time we reach the climax. In exchange for a small laugh, it was the frightened face of our children.
Honestly, I did not Kha at first because people who were good at school and good at singing also sang well. Not only that, my parents are very arrogant in comparison with Kha, so I feel very frustrated and embarrassed because no child s to be compared to their friends by their parents, especially while the child He doesn't that girl anymore. From that day on, Kha also went to the house to give lessons to me, so that I could catch up with my friends when I went back to school without the help of tutors or teachers. Although I used to play and neglect my homework but after the memory, I paid more attention and improved my score, so my teachers and my parents were very happy. It was all thanks to the devotion of Kha, the end of the first semester, and we were ranked in the top 10 of the class and praised by the teachers as a couple of friends!
I really love my best friend and hope that our friendship will also tighten over time so that I can save my childhood memories when I'm with friends and family.

Năm nào cũng thế, cứ mỗi dịp Tết đến, mẹ lại cho tôi tới chợ để sắm Tết. Những ngày này, chợ Tết bao giờ cũng rất đông vui, náo nhiệt. Nhưng chợ Tết năm nay để lại cho tôi ấn tượng sâu sắc nhất.
Sáng sớm, hai mẹ con tôi đã đến chợ. Phía đông, mặt trời còn ngái ngủ sau lớp mây hồng phơn phớt. Vậy mà, chợ đã khá đông rồi. Có lẽ ai cũng muốn nhanh chân lựa những món hàng còn mới. Từng tốp, từng tốp người quang gánh kĩu kịt, tíu tít đổ về chợ. Tiếng trò chuyện râm ran khiến cả khu chợ ồn ào, náo nhiệt khác với ngày thường.
Ngay lối vào chợ là hàng bán lá dong. Lá dong được xếp thành từng đống lớn gọn ghẽ, xanh mươn mướt. Cạnh đó là những bó ống dang để chẻ lạt, gói bánh chưng. Kế đó là dãy bán măng khô, nấm hương, mộc nhĩ,… và các loại cây thuốc quý như cam thảo, sa nhân, hồi, quế - những đặc sản mang hương vị của núi rừng. Các cô bán hàng, giọng ngọt như đường, đon đả chào mời khách mua hàng.
Bên trái chợ là khu bán hoa quả. Những quả chuối vàng ruộm, mập mạp, đều đặn trông như những ngón tay đang khum khum xòe ra. Quả bưởi to, tròn màu nắng ấm, còn nguyên cuống lá xanh. Những rổ cam ngọt lành, quả hồng xiêm màu nâu xám. Còn nữa là chùm nho tím với những quả treo lúc lỉu, mọng nước… Tất cả đều được cô bán hàng sắp xếp nhìn thật vui mắt.
Chếch sang một chút là nơi bán rau, đủ các loại cây nhà lá vườn. Củ su hào còn nguyên phấn trắng, cải bẹ mỡ màng. Cà chua đỏ ối, chín căng mọng xếp vào từng giỏ lớn cạnh những bó hành dọc xanh, củ trắng nõn nà. Tất cả đều tươi xanh roi rói. Đi tiến lên chút nữa là quầy bán bánh kẹo. Những hộp mứt, hộp kẹo, bánh được trang trí với nhiều hình dạng và màu sắc sặc sỡ trông thật bắt mắt.
Những thỏi kẹo sôcôla hay những gói bánh trứng càng vì thế mà ngon lành hơn. Những lon bia, chai rượu cũng được tô điểm mới lạ, đẹp hơn mọi ngày. Mẹ tôi vào lựa hai chai rượu một gói bánh về chuẩn bị thắp hương. Bước ra khỏi quầy bánh kẹo, tôi và mẹ đến xem quần áo tại một cửa hàng đối diện. Những tấm thổ cẩm, những tấm vải dệt rực rỗ sắc màu làm tôi hoa cả mắt.
Kẻ mua, người bán ồn ào, tấp nập. Mấy cô gái trẻ ướm thử những thứ mình định mua rồi quay ra nhìn nhau cười khúc khích. Mẹ chọn cho tôi và Đạt mỗi đứa một bộ để diện đi chơi Tết. Chen giữa dòng người, hai mẹ con tôi như bị cuốn đi trong những tiếng chào mời tíu tít. Luồn lách mãi mới đến được hàng bán hoa. Vươn lên tán lá dày, xanh mát là hàng chục bông hồng đua nhau tỏa hương khoe sắc.
Chúng khoác lên mình bộ dạ hội đỏ thắm, cao sang cùng những viên kim cương điểm xuyết cho tà áo rực rỡ. Cạnh đó là những bông cúc gắn liền với mùa thu trong sáng, dịu êm. Những bông hoa vàng tươi, kiêu hãnh chao nghiêng theo làn gió nhẹ khoe những cánh vàng e ấp, mịn màng. Chúng như mời gọi các nàng ong, nàng bướm tụ hội.
A, kia rồi! Cây bích đào duyên dáng với hàng ngàn, hàng vạn chồi non, lộc biếc như vô vàn những ánh nến lấp lánh ẩn hiện dưới nắng sớm. Nép sau tà áo xanh mơn mởn, những cánh hoa phơn phớt hồng đầu tiên đã hé nở, chào đón Tết đến. Cạnh đó là nơi bán đèn lồng. Những chiếc đèn lồng đỏ rực rỡ để trang trí nhà cửa, cầu cho mọi người năm mới tốt lành.
Chợ Tết năm nay còn bán cả cá cảnh. Những chú cá vàng, cá đen múa lượn, khoe vẻ kiều diễm của mình trong làn nước trong lành. Gần cuối chợ là nơi bán gia súc. Những chú lợn con bị nhốt trong rọ, nghếch mõm ngó người mua. Đàn gà nhép lông mượt như tơ, liếp chiếp trong lồng, nhớn nhác nhìn cảnh lạ. Lũ vịt bị trói chân thành từng cặp, lâu lâu lại đập cánh phành phạch rồi kêu ầm ĩ. Chị mái mơ “cục ta, cục tác” hồi lâu khi bị lạc đàn. Rồi anh chàng lợn tinh vi cũng hùa theo“ụt…ịt”. Tất cả làm khu chợ càng trở nên huyên náo.
Ôi, nhanh thật! Vậy là đã đến cửa hàng cuối cùng của chợ. Đó là hàng bán câu đối và tranh Tết. Trên những dải lụa đỏ thắm, mềm mại là những vần thơ bay bướm mà thấu tình người. Những bức tranh gà, tranh lợn, tranh cá chép trông trăng được người dân nơi tôi rất thích thú. Người ta mua chúng về để nhà cửa thêm đẹp và sang trọng, cầu mong một năm mới an khang, thịnh vượng. Quả là một thú vui tao nhã.
Giờ đây, chợ đã đông nghìn nghịt và hai mẹ con tôi cũng đã xem xong hết các mặt hàng. Tôi và mẹ nhanh chân rảo bước về nhà với chiếc làn nặng trĩu đồ đạc. Chợ Tết năm nay vui quá! Niềm vui ở chợ Tết theo bước chân mẹ con tôi đến tận nhà. Tôi mong rằng chợ Tết năm sau mình sẽ được ngắm nhìn nhiều điều mới lạ hơn nữa.

I love the spring most of the year. It was the season when trees were raging and the rain was cool. Especially, it has the most special holiday of the year, Tet. Tet is the busiest day of the year. Before Tet, people often buy peach blossom or apricot flowers to decorate their houses. In Tet children often dress well and visit relatives. But first, we received the lucky money from the red bag from the elderly. I love this important festival of my hometown.

Tet is the biggest traditional festival in Vietnam. This is an opportunity for people to enjoy a happy and relaxing period of time with their family and friends. There are some differences between Tet in the North and the South of Vietnam. In the North, the traditional food of Tet is Chung cake - a rectangular sky rice cake with meat, which is wrapped in phrynium. People usually buy the cakes with some cherry blossom branches as a symbol of Tet to decorate their houses. In the South, people consider apricots and Tet cakes are the symbols of Tet. Tet cake is also made from sky rice, and the inside can be sweet beans, bananas, or even meat. On New Year’s Eve, most families gather together to have a warm dinner and a traditional ritual in order to commemorate our ancestors. On the first day of New Year, youngsters will give their best greetings to oldsters and receive lucky money. In the rest time of Tet, people can go to pagodas to pray for good things, peace, and health. Tet is an important occasion for families and friends to be together after a year of hard work, and it can motivate people to try harder in the next year.

There are four people in my family – my parents, my little sister and I. I love them all, but my favorite one is my mother. Her name is Mai, and she is 42 years old at the moment. She works as a manager at a furniture store, therefore she is quite busy. She leaves home at 7 and a half in the morning after making breakfast for the whole family, and she usually comes home late in the evening. She is a beautiful woman with an ideal height, long curly hair and a pair of big round eyes. However, because she spends too much time and effort on her work, she starts to have some signs of old aging such as small wrinkles and freckles on her skin. Since she has to work with many employees, she usually has a serious look on her face, and her voice is a little bit loud. However, she is actually a very nice and outgoing person. She always tries to help the staffs with their work, and she is very devoted to her job. At home, she talks to us in a more gentle voice, and there are very few times when she scolds us. She rarely has time to relax and take care of herself, but some of her favorite things to do when she has any spare time are reading novels, watching roman movies, and chatting with us. I know she works under a lot of pressures, so I always talks to her about funny and interesting things at my school, and she seems to enjoy my stories very much. My mother is such a great woman when she can be both a good supervisor and a good mother. I love her a lot, and she is my goal to strive for my future.

I live in an extended family with a lot of people, and my mother has a big responsibility to take care of us. She is 39 years old, and she has medium height with short black hair. She is a little bit chubby, and her bright skin also makes her look younger than her real age. My father is too busy with his work, so my mother has to spend a lot of effort to make sure everything in the house is fine. Every morning, she wakes up at 6 and a half to prepare breakfast for the rest of us; and when we all leave for work or school; she starts to do the house chores as well as cooks lunch. Despite cooking while doing many other things, her food is always delicious and various, and we all come home to eat with her before leaving again. She loves to take a short nap in the afternoon, and this is some little time for her to relax and regain energy. She is a joyful and gentle person. When we gather at dinner, she is the one that brings the warm and happy atmosphere for all of us. My mother is the best mother that one can ever find, and I cannot imagine my life without her.
