In the past, school days in Vietnam were quite basic. Students attended classes in the morning and finished around noon. They studied subjects such as math, literature, and history, but there were no art or music lessons. After school, many kids stayed home to assist their parents with household tasks. During their free time, they played traditional games like marbles, jumping rope, and hide-and-seek. Most students walked to school each day, while some rode bicycles. My father mentioned that they often walked long distances while carrying their school bags. During the summer break, they enjoyed about three months off, swimming in rivers and visiting their grandparents in the countryside.
I don’t like living in the city for a few reasons. First, it is too noisy because of the traffic and busy streets. For example, I often hear cars honking even late at night, so I find it difficult to sleep at night. Second, the air is not clean because there are many cars and factories. I can smell the pollution when I walk outside, and it makes me feel unhealthy. In conclusion, city life has some things I don’t enjoy, like the noise and the bad air.
