Thì tương lai đơn được sử dụng để diễn đạt muốn sự vật, sự việc có thể xảy ra trong tương lai. Chẳng hạn như “Ngày mai trời sẽ mưa” hoặc “Tháng sau tôi sẽ đi du lịch nước ngoài”,… 

Để nhận biết thì tương lai đơn, trong câu có xuất hiện những từ chỉ thơi gian trong tương lai như sau:

• Tomorrow: Ngày mai, …
• Next day/week/month/year/…: Ngày hôm sau, tháng sau, năm sau,…
• In + Một khoảng thời gian: In 2 days, in 4 hours, in next week,…

Trong câu có những động từ, trạng từ chỉ quan điểm và không chắc chắn như:

• Probably, maybe, supposedly, … : Có thểm, được cho là,…
• Think / believe / suppose / …: Tin rằng, cho là,…
