1. When I was young, I used to spend the summer on my grandparents' farm. I loved those days, so carefree and enjoyable. There were so many things to do and see that I was never bored. Every day, I'd get up at sunrise and go for a walk around a meadow. In the morning, my grandmother fed the chickens, and my grandfather turned out the cattle. Then we went to a field together. My grandparents usually worked until lunchtime when it was too hot to work. In the afternoon, I loved picking fruit in the garden or looked for birds' nests in a nearby forest.
2. Now I don't spend the summer in the countryside any longer. My grandparents have grown old and they aren't strong enough to work in the fields. I visited them last year but it wasn't the same. The village has grown and developed. You can no longer see horses in the fields; there are modern agricultural machines instead. The forest I loved has been cut and has lost its natural beauty. I miss the good old days and I feel sorry that time goes by so quickly.
