When I was younger, I would usually spend my summer holidays with only my parents, and it was pretty boring. (1) _______, last summer was different. Some of my friends – Susan, Peter, and Louis – came to stay with my family and me at our summer house in Portsea, a small Victorian beach town. They took the train to get there, and the journey (2) _______ three hours.

One morning, we decided (3) _______ and explore some caves along the shore. After rowing for a while, we found the first cave. Once inside, we noticed a second cave on the right. Susan felt it might be dangerous to enter, but Peter said it would be fine, so we rowed in. Suddenly, a strong tide started pulling us. At first, we tried to fight it, but it was (4) _______. We shouted for help, but no one was around. Louis, (5) _______ always seems to have a solution, told us to calm down and wait. Thankfully, he was right. After several hours, the tide (6) _______ to shore. By then, we were starving. We learned our lesson: no more risky adventures!

1. I want to share a fascinating holiday I went on last December. We stayed at the Ice Hotel, which is located in Jukkasjärvi, 200 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle in Sweden. This hotel is unique because it's made entirely of ice and snow. I first read about it in a travel magazine. After showing the article to my father, we decided to go.

2. When we arrived, we were astonished. Everything, from the walls to the furniture, was made of ice. A woman gave us special coats and gloves at the entrance to protect us from the cold. In the hotel's “garden,” we saw beautiful ice sculptures created by different artists. That evening, we had dinner at the hotel's restaurant. I was surprised that the food was served on plates made of ice! We enjoyed fantastic salmon and a delicious dessert, plus some ice cream.

3. There was a small shop where I bought a sweater and a cap, though things were quite expensive. We also visited a nearby village where Eskimos used to live. It was an unforgettable experience, and I highly recommend visiting!

1. The Galápagos Islands are one of the most remote and beautiful places to visit. Located 1,000 kilometres off the coast of South America, in the Pacific Ocean, these islands are perfect for people who love nature and wildlife.

2. The Galápagos are famous for their incredible animals. You can see the only penguins that live north of the equator, sea lions, marine iguanas, and unique lizards that can swim. The islands are also known for their giant tortoises, the most enormous tortoises in the world. These creatures live longer than any other reptile, with some over 150 years old!

3. Since many animals in the Galápagos are endangered, eco-tourism is essential to protect them. Visitors must have special permission to visit, and only a limited number of people are allowed yearly. Please note that the Galápagos Islands follow a rigorous "leave no trace" policy to protect the environment. Visitors must be careful not to litter, harm animals, or damage the landscape. The goal is to respect the islands and let them change you.
