According to Irish folklore a man named Jack, well known for his drunkenness and quick temper, got very drunk at a local pub on All Hallows Eve. He met the Devil outside the pub because the Devil wanted his soul. Jack asked him one more drink but he didn’t have the money to pay. So he convinced the Devil to turn himself into a coin and Jack put it into his wallet that had a silver cross that caught the Devil. Jack agreed to free the Devil under one condition: he should let him live for another year. The Devil accepted.

The following year the Devil reappeared and asked Jack to accompany him. Jack told the Devil to take an apple from a tree; when the Devil climbed up, Jack carved a cross on the tree and the Devil was trapped again. This time Jack asked the Devil ten more years of life in exchange for his freedom; again the Devil had to accept.

Soon after, Jack died. God would not allow such an unsavory figure into heaven. The Devil kept his word not to claim his soul, would not allow Jack into hell. He sent Jack off into the dark night with only a burning coal to light his way. Jack put the coal into a carved-out turnip and has been roaming the Earth with ever since. The Irish began to refer to this ghostly figure as “Jack of the Lantern,” and then, simply “Jack O’Lantern.”

The Irish used to carve turnips or beets as Jack’s lanterns and place them into windows or near doors to frighten away evil spirits on Halloween night. When they emigrated to the USA, they brought their traditions with them. They couldn’t find turnips in America but they found a lot of pumpkins which were suitable substitutes to make a Jack O’Lantern; since then, pumpkins are an essential part of Halloween celebrations.

Phim yêu thích của tôi mọi thời đại là Titanic. Đó là câu chuyện tình yêu hay nhất mà tôi từng xem. Tôi đã xem bộ phim này nhiều lần nhưng tôi không bao giờ cảm thấy mệt mỏi khi xem nó. Bất cứ khi nào tôi xem nó, tôi luôn khóc.

Những lý do tôi thích nó rất nhiều là cảnh quan lớn và nội dung lãng mạn. Bộ phim kể về câu chuyện tình yêu của Rose Dewitt Bukater và Jack Dawson. Jack là một thanh niên nghèo tinh thần tự do nhưng anh ta có một tấm vé cho một con tàu sang trọng, Titanic. Rose đến từ tầng lớp thượng lưu Mỹ và đính hôn với một người đàn ông. Cô miễn cưỡng kết hôn với anh ta. Cô gặp Jack ở Titanic và họ yêu nhau sâu sắc ngay cả khi có một khoảng cách lớn giữa họ.

Bui Tien Dung made a name for himself in the AFC U23 Championship where he accurately blocked opponents' shots time after time and saved Vietnam’s chance at the championship in the process. Bui Tien Dung was born on February 28th, 1997 in a poor farming family in Thanh Hoa Province. Dung has loved soccer since he was a kid, but his family was so poor that they could not even

afford a plastic soccer ball for him and his brother. The Bui brothers had to resort to playing with balls made from scrap papers and old grapefruits.

Dung's parents recognized the brothers' passion for football and used the little money they had to support their sons' early training. When a big football club in the city announced a recruitment event, Dung convinced his younger brother to go to the tryout. He passed on the opportunity knowing that his parents could not afford to have both their sons gone to city.

While his younger brother training in the city, Dung's local training center went bankrupted and abruptly ended Dung's football career. For a year, instead of kicking balls, the young man worked as a construction worker to support his parents. He seemingly gave up on football.

Fate finally smiled on Dung when a football coach rediscovered him and sent him to train with a local football team. Reentering the football field, Dung wanted to play in a defense position but he was pushed to goalkeeping because of his height. At first, Dung was unhappy about his new position, but his parents advised him to follow and make the best out of it. And Dung did.

The young goalkeeper trained hard for his new position and patiently climbed up the ranks the following years. Through hard work, he was named the best goalkeeper of Vietnam's U19 division. Those who have worked with Dung described him as a likable young man. He is very respectful to others and speaks very little. However, when the gloves are on, the nice young man transforms into a fierce competitor and an unyielding goalkeeper.

At AFC U23 Championship, Dung finally reunited with his brother on the field. They fought battle after battle together with other amazing players on the team and helped Vietnam made history for Southeast Asian football.

Even though Vietnam came short of winning the championship, Dung and his teammates are already heroes and legends in the heart of Vietnamese people. They played fairly and lost with glory and grace.

On 26^th May 1828, the people of Nuremberg in Germany found a teenage boy who waswandering alone through the streets. When they came across him, he had no possessions except for two old letters. Because of his behavior and appearance, they took him to the police station. Kaspar spent the next two months in prison, where he hardly spoke and refused all food except for bread and water. Some people assumed that Kaspar had grown up alone in the forest, like a wild animal. But gradually, a different picture emerged.

Kaspar said he had spent his whole childhood in a small dark cell. He had never seen the world outside or left his cell. He had never met or spoken to another human being. The cell was empty apart from a small bed and one toy-a wooden horse. He claimed that he had found bread and water in his cell every morning. According to Kaspar’s account, a mysterious man had begun to call on him shortly before his release. The man never showed his face.

Kaspar became well-known throughout Germany and in other countries too, and people found his ascinating. Some suggested that Kaspar was the son of a rich and powerful man-a prince perhaps-who wanted to keep his identity secret. A schoolteacher called Friedrich Daumer met Kaspar and agreed to look after him. Daumer taught him various subjects and encouraged Kaspar’s talent for drawing.

One day in 1829, Kaspar was found with a knife wound to his head. He claimed that a man with a hood over his face had attacked him-the same man who had brought him to Nuremberg. It wasn’t a serious injury, and Kaspar got over it. But in 1833, Hauser came home with a deep knife wound in his chest, saying someone had attacked him in a garden. Three days later, Kaspar died from the wound. Just before he died, Kaspar told the police that his attacker had given him a bag, so the police went to the garden and looked for it. They found it, with a note inside. The note was in mirror writing and said in German: “I want to tell you about myself. I come from the Bavarian border, on the river.”

Over the years, books have been written about Kaspar’s stories and various historians have looked into them. Most have concluded that the stories were untrue and that Kaspar Hauser was a liar who killed himself (possibly by mistake). But for some people, Kaspar Hauser’s life and death remain one of the most mysterious stories in history.
